Wholesome place to grab some authentic, thick, fresh, homemade, juicy, Korean Dumplings known as "Mandu". Every single one of their Mandu is made with lots of attention and you can taste the intricacies of every ingredient that come with each bite. Dipping sauce? Limitless. Spicy option? Also available. I came with 2 others and we ate like pigs about to eat their last meal. We orders 5 plates of dumplings with a large thick fat no nonsense stuffed squid and ate the entire thing like starving Korean refugees suppressed by the North Korean regime. Even my friend's wife of petite nature ate like 12 dumplings all by herself!!! Which was incredible!! The place inside is like your typical Korean restaurant highly pragmatic, clean, straight forward with some Rod Stewart playing live on TV. We continue drinking green tea ocha to wash everything down and proceeded to check out the Christian Institute Research museum across the street. 5/5 would come here again!!! I am a commercial broker specializing in food and restaurant retail and believe me when I say, "this is the best Korean...

I enjoy dumplings but hard to find a place that specializes in it; I love restaurants where they push one item and excel. This is your joint for dumplings. He is focused on this which I like.

No frill joint focused on food quality which I can also appreciate.

The dumpling skin was the right thickness/thinness. Very generous stuffing, skin to stuffing ratio was on point.

Appreciate the natural coloring used for the dumpling skin: sweet potato powder, hibiscus flower powder AND the dumplings are definitely hand made.

You walk away feeling satisfied, not too heavy of a feeling, as if you just left grandma's home cooked meal type of feeling.

Meat Mandu - seems to be the original, was on point.

Kimchi Mandu - just the right blend of kimchi with the other ingredients, the ingredients were harmonious. This has a slight kick.

Galbi Mandu - the beef is marinated to give it the kalbi flavored, this was a bit sweet for my palate but delicious as well.

Snowflake - pan seared on one side for the crispy texture.

I would definitely return!...

Upon entrance, the owner greeted us with a smile and enthusiasm that is contagious. Everything is made by hand and cooked to order. He helped us pick some choices based on what our preferences were, the hardest part was choosing which ones to try.

I've had plenty of dumplings before, but never anything like these. These are definitely not the ones you get from Costco, or unlike any other restaurant I've tried them. The steamed dumplings are soft and warm, pillowy and inviting, the fried dumplings have a beautiful crisp and I could look and smell right away they were made with clean fresh oil, and strangely didn't feel "heavy".

The owner brought our food with his cart and served each plate with a serving of soy sauce, and gave us our utensils. He also checked on us to see how we were enjoying our food.

It was a breath of fresh air to see someone passionate about the food they make, and treat you like a relative you hadn't seen in a while.

I'll be back to order more of those fried...

Was starving after a long day and stumbled upon Hong Dumpling House! They make fresh Mandu (Korean Dumplings) and they were fantastic. I had the kimchi (orange), shrimp (green), and regular (purple-ish) mandu. All of them were awesome! They came with the pork and vegetables and depending on what you order, it’ll come with said item inside (i.e. kimchi will have the meat, veggies, and kimchi). They just serve steamed mandu, but I think the owner is willing to do fried, but mandu is meant to be eaten steamed. I am a big dumpling guy (probably can tell with my dumpling bod) and this definitely will be a go-to spot for myself and SO. Owner is super nice and just grateful for the compliments. It’s so well deserved and another one on my list of delicious hole-in-the-wall places.
