Consistently delicious! Solid Tex Mex. I used to eat at Taco Joint weekly, now I only get to hit it when I’m in town and it never fails to disappoint. The staff are friendly, too. If you sign up for their email list, you might receive coupon for free chips and salsa. They sporadically send other promos, as well. Recommendations: any of the breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, brisket taco, spicy pork, and the queso.

When the wife wants to go on a quick date day or night, we head for this particular Taco Joint. That's the name, "Taco Joint", and it's supreme! We love all the food and drinks here. It never fails, we each get a chalupa! Together with the fresh chips & queso we always thoroughly enjoy our meal.

Queso was solid. It was simple and not overdone with "bold" additions Chips were not warm. I had breakfast tacos with bacon, egg and cheese. They were average. Taco Joint was just average. Nothing bad about it, nothing exciting. I wouldn't have a desire to go again.

Taco Joint is open!!! One of the first places in the Lakeridge shopping center to open after its remodel, this will be THE SPOT in Lake Highlands. Delicious, filling and cheap Tex-Mex is here to stay! Daily specials like the fried fish tacos and sour cream chicken enchiladas made fresh are sure to please if you're looking for something different. The Lester is a favorite: a double decker Taco with a flour tortilla smeared in beans, then a crispy Taco with ground beef inside, and lettuce tomatoes and cheese on top. Vegetarian options include the Sophie Taco (grilled veggies like carrots, zucchini and squash) and the Evan Taco (black beans, rice, guacamole, and Jack cheese). Salads are huge and plenty of the good stuff.. The tex-mex Caesar salad has fried jalapeños! Mmm! Breakfast served all day! The cannonball breakfast quesadilla is bomb. Also, they have a food challenge: eat a FOUR POUND burrito in less than 30 minutes and you get a free shirt and your own picture hung on the wall of winners. Haven't tried it but it looks like fun! The bar is limited with just tequila and vodka for liquors, but plenty of craft and domestic beer options, drafts, wine, mimosas, and homemade margaritas made with agave nectar (that means they're already skinny!). Service is excellent at this location, staff is very helpful and the restaurant is clean and sparkling new. A must try for all...

September 30, 2022 update - things seem to be back to normal. Great order today! The new schnitzel taco was really good, though the gravy needs a lot of work. It shouldn't be that lumpy or cold.

March 2, 2022 - Had dinner with a friend tonight. Food took 30 minutes for some reason. Tasty, but that's way too long. And the fountain drinks were out of order. They had cans, but they charged $2.50 / can. So while I can normally get all-I-can-drink Dr. Pepper for $2.50, I was charged $5 for 2 cans. They had a great opportunity to create good will with their customers by charging 1) a lot less for a can, or 2) the same as a fountain drink, but offering at least 2 free "refill" can - but instead, they left a pretty regular customer feeling cheated.

I love Taco Joint, so I'm sure I'll give them another chance, but this was a pretty big #customerservicefail in my opinion.

My previous review was 5 stars with these comments - Pretty much always the perfect taco here. Taco Joint has been a favor for years, and I don't see anything changing that...

I swear I wish I could give this place 0 stars. How is it that on the menu, they sell street tacos, that come with onions and cilantro, and then shrimp for an extra $0.99, but when I order and pay for the shrimp, I only get a taco with shrimp. On the menu, it says street tacos come with onions and cilantro. So not only did I not get what comes with a street taco, the employee told me i would need to pay extra for the cilantro and onions. Even my receipt shows "add onion" but yet there are no onions or cilantro in my taco. So how am I paying for an add on of shrimp if the shrimp is the only thing I am getting? Ummm.... what exactly is it being added to? Worse experience. I promise you I will never go back to this place. Next time, I will go to Velvet Taco, or Torchy's, or Fuzzy's, hell even Taco bell knows how to make a taco. Don't waste your time at this place....
