Nice spot! … went in the day for lunch, the parking was a bit sketchy (can’t imagine what parking looks like for their night crowds), but the service was great and made us feel safe and welcomed. I ordered almost everything on the menu because family and friends wanted a review after seeing it on IG. The Shrimp Rasta Pasta (hold the shrimp substitute chicken) was the main reason I chose to this restaurant. The Twice Fried Chicken was ordered for the fried chicken connoisseur of the group (although catfish looked great we went with chicken). Vegetables are one of my favorite things so we added collard greens, yams, mac & cheese, and broccolini to the house salad side that came with the pasta. It was hard to choose a drink because every one of them had such a cool name. I decided Apple of My Eye. Now to begin my fair and genuine opinion of my first visit here (I read reviews and trust them to give insight to an establishment). This is a black owned / soul food restaurant, I support my people, and want them to win… a star is earned and added on account of that fact alone… We made reservations (which was highly recommended) but we came in the day and were the first customers there (people trickled in over the next hour). I can tell the vibe is on a ten during the night club hours. The staff sat us and put the final touches on opening operations. The food was seasoned well but tasted ok. There seemed to be something off with the consistency of some off the dishes, by being too oily or watery (even the drink)… the pasta was swimming in an oily substances, the broccoli was drenched in some type of vinaigrette, the greens and yams were ok at best and the mac&cheese required a spoon for the liquidity cheese. The strawberry cream cheese egg roll was brought out with the meal so it was cold by the time I got to dessert. The Cook came out to greet us, which was nice. We did not give her this review, only mentioned we hadn’t tried the Strawberry drizzled Cheesecake Egg Roll, which she informed us she had hand rolled them herself!! I wish I had gotten it hot from the fryer! I believe the kitchen has the ability to throw down a FIVE STAR meal but the day I came it was only three. I have eaten in restaurants with similar styles and slight variations of the quality of food (higher and lower), so Victor’s...
Read moreHad an incredibly disappointing experience today. Went with a group to celebrate our friend’s birthday and had reservations beforehand. The number of guests was communicated with the reservation so the delays we experienced should not have been a thing. The food was ordered just before 3pm and the food didn’t start arriving until after 4pm literally one plate at a time with SEVERAL minutes between each plate.
Several of the orders were incorrect. Food items were completely missing. Some didn’t get their orders at all. On top of that, the food itself didn’t look particularly appetizing and many stated they did not enjoy their food and didn’t/wouldn’t touch several of the items (grits and eggs were 2 of the items I saw that no one ate). As a positive the breakfast potatoes, bacon and toast received good reviews.
I only ordered a soda for myself which was incidentally never even delivered to the table. The server never really came to check on the table in the 2.5 hours we were there, didn’t offer refills, etc. (though one of the other ladies passing by asked if the hookah at the table needed a coal refresh so that was nice)
When one of the patrons at our table asked for some bread they were told they would get some to the table but around 30 minutes or so later when the server was by the table and still no bread, the patron asked for the bread and the server giggles condescendingly and said “my manager said I already brought you all the bread you’re allowed to have” (for context one of the other patrons wasn’t feeling well and got some bread for their stomach early on… that was all the bread that was brought to the table). Genuinely not sure why that message couldn’t have been delivered sooner but mind you this was already like an hour after the food was ordered too so everyone was hungry and just asking for bare minimum. Literally every meal came with bread so it was really confusing as to why they didn’t or couldn’t just bring bread ahead of the meals to appease the hungry patrons.
Just a weird and disappointing experience all around. Personally will not...

They promote karaoke on Thursday from 7-11. My friend thought it’d be fun for her birthday and reserved a table. We arrive at 8 to a sewage smelling ghost town.
Please note that none of this is against the staff. They were as helpful as they could be. Our waitress Ace tried her best to make sure we had a great time with what they had to offer.
We were advised that the karaoke is 10-2am ( this was a lie) we left around 1130. Because there was obviously no karaoke happening. The man behind the booth (he was not a DJ) played some well know black albums. Albums because he’d pick an artist and play five songs, another artist and play 4 songs and so on. We sang cause.. we were there and thought maybe it was a warm up.
The man behind the booth brought us a microphone so we could feel like we were doing karaoke which the manager took away for…. No reason at all. So now we can’t even pretend to be there for what we literally paid to be there for…
I’d like to add that the place was empty aside from another birthday party. We had 8. They had 10.
The tables are card tables. They really should have covered them but.. if they were covered you wouldn’t know to be careful and not bump them so I kind of understand. But think.. backyard spades tournament.
The food was presented so well! Literally artwork
But tasted MID! except the wings! The wings were cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful.
We got lamb chops, Rasta pasta, fried chicken and catfish. All with sides.
Nothing is to write home about or even remember. The biggest issue is that it was so unseasoned. My catfish cooked very well.. in plain cornmeal 🫠
The pasta was missing the rasta..
After a couple rnb albums ran their course the music turned to a ratchet good time. It was not the vibe advertised. We had a good time only because we are a good time. This place played on our faces!!
Also the incense helped with the smell. That was a good idea cause PHEW!
They are great at marketing. Not great RESTAURANT or BUSINESS - ING! This...
