Whiskers Fish and Burgers — Restaurant in Dallas

I was just over there recently. Unfortunately, I had to puke my shrimp back up again. They are cutting corners trying to pull a fast one and not changing their grease. Your stomach doesn't lie. They have some pretty good seafood the other owner told me they get at Restaurant Depot (if I'm not mistaken), but the grease is old.

They are a cash only establishment, and he will remind you of that many times. One of the owners who takes your order mostly is short on patience as well. You've got to be careful with asking him anything. His son does most of the cooking.

I speak with them whenever I see them, and after COVID they are on edge because prices have gone up hurting their business forcing them to change their menu and the things they sell. He said they'd have to go up on prices soon again due to the pandemic. I'm seeing reviews that they are serving Swai instead of catfish. Everyone knows Swai is a cheap fish harvested from polluted waters in China. Yet again cutting corners.

Parking is atrocious there, and I scratched up my car once trying to get out. I won't recommend this place until they start changing out their oil. The food may look good, but if the oil is old your stomach will...

I mistook the tiny little decrepit garage like building standing in front of what seems to actually be the garage itself for a pawn shop and had to check twice to be sure I was at the right place. The inside is as unassuming as the outside. Two high tops line each long side of a rectangular room while a TV stands on a table against one of the other walls. The kitchen is a tiny hole behind the last wall, and this is where the magic happens. As soon as I walked in they new it was my first time... it's odd how such places work. I asked for a recommendation and after confirming I wanted fish they recommended the two fish fillet platter. It came with fries, jalapenos, bread and pickle and three boneless fillets. Very very simple fare... but so so so good. I asked if they had anything spicy and they said "no, but if you like it we'll add a bit of spice on top and we have a spicy tartar sauce". Sold. CASH ONLY! 1st timer here (but won't be my last). You are promptly greeted by a very friendly nice lady upon entering who is taking orders and there to explain the menu to people like me who need help. I got a combo of fish (no bones) and 8 shrimp which came with delicious seasoned fries (alot of them cooked perfectly), two hushpuppies, 2 jalapenos and although I didn't want it pickles and white bread. My total was 19 and change. The fish were outstanding! Crunchy outside/soft inside and although I'm not a salt fan, it wasn't too much to bother me. The shrimp could have used another minute in the deep fryer but they were still good and well battered also. And, again, the fries were outstanding and plentiful. They want you to go wait in your car after you order and they bring the food out to you. You describe the car and they bring it quickly.
