Barn Door Cafe — Restaurant in Damariscotta

Ate there Saturday 3/8 to grab lunch before a movie. It’s good for coffee and pastry but that’s about it. Had their famous grilled cheese sandwich. The cheese blend made sandwich soggy and cheeses were mushy and wet. Took two bites and that was it. Came in a tiny muffin cardboard takeout container, piled on top and squished in it. Ordered two broccoli quiche. Came in same cardboard container but wrapped in foil. Asked for it to be heated, but still cold inside and had no taste at all.Miss soups and sandwiches and salads. The Barn Door Baking Co. is connected to the book shop. It’s a nice cafe with local artists artwork hung. The peanut butter cookie I tried was soooo gooey and chewy! Love that! And the mocha latte I had was delicious. Their service was fast and the atmosphere was lovely :) if I lived in the area, I would visit often! We started with a perfect little snack of hummus, veggie sticks, and crostini crackers (4$) . A panini pressed grilled cheese with a super creamy cheese blend as well as a BLT with avocado for sandwiches . For dessert a light lemon cupcake and a pb chocolate something that was so good even though I can't remember its name.
