Renys Department Store — Local services in Damariscotta

Honestly the worst ordering experience ever. I waited two weeks for boots that had arrived 5 days after I ordered them. I did get a call, which I happened to miss. Throughout the next week I would a total of 3 times and visit the store once. That’s a total of 4 opportunities for them to help me. Not a single one even tried. The reason I would call so much was because I needed these steel toe boots for my job according to the OSHA safety standards. Without the proper boots, I am not allowed to work. Well I happened to go a full week without working. Which could have been prevented had they properly done their job when I called them THREE DAYS AFTER my boots had arrived. But no. No I got to miss out on a full weeks paycheck that’s more than $1400 I lost. What was their solution? They gave me a whopping 20% off. Wow, I’m so lucky. This is absolutely ridiculous. I really expected more from this company. They all seem very nice and willing to help, but when it really comes down to it, they don’t care a single bit. I even had a lady yell at me on the phone. Not a single one asked how they could help. They just asked if I had been called yet, and if I hadn’t then there is nothing to worry about. Needless to say, this company had already taken more than $1400 from me, they don’t deserve anymore of my money. When visiting Maine, forget Walmart & go to Renys instead. While visiting family near Damiscrotta, we realized 1/2 our suitcase items were left @ home...(long story). We needed tops, socks, etc., & Renys fit the bill for less than any "big box" retailer. Later during our visit, we went to Renys Underground, (163 Main St., carrying everything except clothing). I have been a loyal customer for years. Went in to the Damariscotta Store to return merchandise with my receipt in hand. I was going to return it for the next size but when I went to my mobile banking app I found no credit for my return just another charge. I am a disabled vet and get paid once a month. I was told it will take about 7 days for my money to be returned doesn’t look like it is going to be much of a Thanksgiving.
