Good all around, but the moussaka was worth going out of the way for. Very pleasing.
I grew up with Connecticut Greek pizza, and I love it. Mykonos makes a decent Greek pizza, but what stands out are the Greek selection. My daughter got the mixed plate with salad, gyro meat with nice, fresh tsatsiki sauce, moussaka, and a slice of feta. To our delight, there was also a piece of spanokopita. It was all good. The spanokopita was fresh, spinachy, and generously filled with chunks of feta. The fill was crispy. It was much better than I expected, and I will return for it and to try the tiropita. But the real star of our meal was the moussaka. The bechamel flavor was a delight, the eggplant was delicious, and the thin-sliced potatoes that formed the bottom crust had absorbed the flavors above it and was wondrous. A really happy surprise. I highly recommend the moussaka. We were told that the spanokopita and tiropita are made fresh every day! Mykonos is known as a pizza place, but the Greek dishes are where their reputation should rest. One of the best Greek places around, and that moussaka will bring us...
Read moreTerrible. Went to there to get a Gyros with my friend. Pulled into the parking lot on Friday evening around 6pm and no cars in the parking lot. Went inside no customer's in the restaurant. Placed look fairly decent, so I decided to stay. My friend and I ordered 2 Gyros and one side of French Fries and two sodas. Food came on 10 minutes and the first thing I noticed was an odd looking tzatziki sauce. It was more greenish and lumpy instead of a white creamy yogurt looking sauce. The Gyro was disgusting. I asked the waitress for hot sauce and heard her asking everyone that worked there, where is the hot sauce. No one could find hot sauce in a Greek restaurant that serves Gyros. Hot sauce is usually a pretty common condiment for a Gyro. It took 10 minutes and finally she came out with a plastic cup filled with hot sauce from the kitchen. Asked for a soda refill and was charged an additional $2.50. Altogether it came to almost $40 for a horrible meal that made me sick all night. Probably from the tzatziki sauce. Now I know why the place was empty. Would...
Read moreNot a single car in the parking lot when we pulled in at 7p & my friend reminded me of my golden rule : I almost always follow “If the parking lot is empty, there is a reason why it’s empty”(to be continued) but we were hungry & google maps mislead me with an advertising restaurant pop up & not a greek restaurant for the first place we stopped at… Great service, lemon chicken soup with rice soup was steaming hot & lemony, the falafel was neither good or bad just different & more like a thick pancake. My pork souvlaki although tender was cold to the tongue and lacked any seasoning. My friend stated his chicken souvlaki was bland. The tzatziki sauce was a bit tingling on the tongue, hard to tell if it was on purpose or at that end of life stage. Returning to my golden rule on the parking lot…. Still holds true… Hence the 3 stars for service otherwise it would get a 1 star review. I would not return here for a second chance as we were the only ones in the restaurant & there is no excuse for bland, cold food...
