Island Joe's Cafe — Restaurant in Dania Beach

I went to this restaurant looking for a patty, after reading a Google review about how great and fresh they were. That definitely wasn't my experience. For starters, the customer service was horrible which is usually expected with Jamaican establishments. Most of us who are of Caribbean decent are used to the nonchalant, annoyed or downright rude attitudes. When I walked in, the lady was stocking drinks in a refrigerator. Of course, she just looked at me as if I was bothering her just by entering the restaurant. She didn't greet me or take a minute to say someone would be with me. There was another person in the restaurant waiting for their order, and another lady brought it to him. As she was wrapping things up with him, she started looking at me asking me what I was going to order...literally while she was still with the other customer. I asked her if they had jerk pork, and of course she started telling me that it wasn't ready and all the other things that weren't ready. I told her I would wait the ten minutes for it to be ready and I sat down shaking my head. Why are they even open, when the food isn't all ready? I was in the process of ordering more food, when she walked off and started doing something else, so I waited for her to finish. I ordered the patty, and it was mediocre. I've been there about 3 or 4 times my job is not too far from the restaurant so my very first time there how old is something I can't remember exactly what it was I remember though they charged me a lot and they gave me a little bit of food so I'm forgiving so I called it a fluke so my next time back I went for breakfast went to the drive-thru everybody in the restaurant was behaving like they were surprised somebody actually used to drive through and then they gave me a woman Hispanic which I have no problem with but she doesn't speak doesn't speak English well and the card machine wasn't working so that started an attitude with all the women and that was my second time their third time was okay the lady was nice she got me good food she helped me out on the prices because they didn't have enough of what I wanted but today was my fourth time and I'm here for breakfast the window says 7:30 they open no one's in the parking lot I checked online it says 8:00 a.m. it's now 8:15 no cars in the parking lot and the door is locked no one ever answers the number that's posted the food is good it's just the customer service is shaky and sometimes you never know what you're...

This place is 5 stars all around: Spotlessly clean inside and out, drive by any time a day and see someone refreshing the paint or cleaning every day. Simple, incredibly moist, perfectly seasoned homemade food, abundant portions, hot and fresh

Everyone working there is clean, working hard, cordial, professional and good at their job

Prices are extremely reasonable during these hard times, you can’t even get fast food much less fresh, hot, healthy food at this price

They keep the menu simple so they can do what they do well and execute

I have been in the industry for 30 years and this place is a case study on how a restaurant should be run
