The location with easy convenience of highways is the one thing this hotel has going for it.
I stayed here back in May for a week on business. This was the worst week I’ve had in 2023 mostly due to this hotel.
Arrival was unfriendly and unpleasant, I was out in a room right off the elevator lobby, the room had a strange odor to it that I still cannot place. I didn’t find the room very clean either. I don’t understand the reasoning of placing an established Bonvoy member booking their company rate thru their company booking system next to an elevator, very clearly I was on business and not interested in the loud foot traffic of their guests not on business.
The first morning of my stay the shower flooded the room because they didn’t have a shower liner, just a fabric curtain with the snap in liner missing. The refrigerator in the room also didn’t work for the entirety of my stay which was awesome for southern Florida. I talked to staff about it at the front desk multiple mornings of my stay as well as during the evenings when I’d come back and it’d still be broken. I gave up after the third day. Fortunately I was able to unplug it and plug it back in which would make it run for about two hours.
One night I was lounging at the pool when another guest asked if I could help her get in the building as her key wasn’t working. I tried my digital one on the back doors from the pool and couldn’t get in either. It was about 8:30pm, I called the front desk and the same agent that was rude during arrival came to the door and scolded us for being in the pool area because it’s closed. There were no signs and it was advertised everywhere that it closes at 10pm.
Breakfast was okay for a Fairfield.
One morning the hotel had no water, not just hot water but also cold water. I went down to the desk to figure out if it was going to be a long term issue or not and they didn’t know, but were flustered moving other guests to other rooms due to not having water, the entire hotel didn’t have water so that was pointless. It came back on maybe a half hour later without explanation from the desk. At that point I just laughed. It’s all I could do.
If you’re staying for a night to be convenient to the cruise terminal or the Fort Lauderdale airport this is a great hotel. I’d like me you were operating out of a car servicing clients throughout the area, it was convenient to the different highways and had a great rate but I probably would not stay again.
The final kicker was the night packed up my gear I had to re distribute my bags so I needed to weigh them. I saw this cool scale in the lobby that I thought was a really nice amenity until I saw it cost at least $1. So I went to the fitness center instead which should have a complimentary scale but…nope…they took it out so you have to use the pay scale. Just amazing nickel and dime practices right there that made me additionally happy to be going home (and also provided me with...
Read moreI found this hotel while looking for a place that was close to the airport and the cruise port for the night before a cruise. While it is advertised that they have a free airport shuttle, we actually got a ride so we did not end up using that service. We arrived around 2pm on a Friday and the lobby was filled with people waiting for their rooms. They do have a tiny area to store luggage if really needed, but didn’t look like a lot of space. We checked in but were advised they were very busy and room might not be ready until 3pm, when the official check in time was. She looked at the list and thought maybe our room would be ready sooner in about 15 minutes. They have bottles of water available upon check in as well, and are available if needed throughout your stay at the front desk. They said they would give us a call when the room is ready. After about 30 minutes with no update we decided to wait until the check in line went down to ask about a status. Apparently at this hotel they assign specific rooms to you, so we were waiting for that specific room to be available, not just the next available room. However they were able to radio housekeeping and they just finished the room so we were able to go up at about 2:40pm or so. They do have luggage carts but there are only a few. Also the lobby is a tad small and there are only 2 people working the check in desk. The employees were generally friendly. The room is quite “cozy” and tight. The sink is in the bathroom so it makes it more difficult for larger parties to get ready. There are other mirrors in the room though. There is a desk, and a tv, and a tiny closet with an iron and not much else. It is a very standard basic room. We went out exploring to the beach and it was not too bad of a drive (20-25 minutes). When we came back the lobby was much emptier. We asked for a rollaway bed and it was promptly delivered. The rollaway does fit sideways but does make it extra tight in there. In the morning they do have complimentary breakfast. It is simple but it works. They have yogurt, cereal, eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels/toast, and toppings. It does the job for a breakfast before taking off. The breakfast area for food and sitting is quite small so you may have to wait around for a table if you go at peak time. They do have a cruise terminal shuttle that is $20/person. However the port is literally 10 minutes away and Uber would probably be more cost efficient. Like I said we got a ride to the cruise port in the morning and it was an easy drive to get there. Overall, this hotel filled the need for a place to rest your head the night before embarking on...
