BEWARE OFF LEASH DOGS! I have visited the brewery 4 times prior with my well behaved dog and this past weekend I had such a bad experience, I will never return. Arrived and found 2 large dogs running loose. My friend went in and asked if it is policy to have dogs off leash and the bartender said it was. We then asked if it would be possible to leash the 2 dogs because one of the dogs we had was recovering from surgery and cannot be jumped on, and the other 2 are in training. The answer was no.
I couldn't believe that paying customers would be turned down for something like this when it is standard to have dogs on a leash, so I went inside myself and promptly was jumped on twice by one of the dogs. I explained the situation. The bartender finally said that MAYBE she could put her dog away (yes, apparently one of the dogs was hers) but she couldn't tell the customers to. I looked right at the customers who were listening the entire time (I can only imagine were her friends by the lack of action) and they looked right back at me, nobody offering to put a dog on a leash or even say that their dog is very well trained and will not approach mine. NOTHING.
We were very unwelcomed at this establishment and forced out. I was appalled by the lack of common decency I saw that day.
In this day and age, the liability of having large dogs off leash, let alone ones that jump on people, is nuts to me. What happens with a kid gets knocked over, or that pitbull's tooth grazes the arm of a kid? What if he jumps on a person recovering from knee or hip surgery? Or what about people that are trying to get over a fear of dogs? Its a shame because they...
Read moreWe stopped here on the way to the airport to drop someone off. The brewery location is ideal for a quick stop on the way to or from FLL airport or Port Everglades cruise terminal. We first visited 6 years ago and honestly can't explain why we haven't been back. The covered outdoor beer garden was very comfortable on this breezy fall afternoon. There is indoor open-air seating as well that is fine, but seemed very dimly lit, even in the daytime. The outdoor beer garden is where everyone wanted to be today. A barbeque food truck operator was setting up his smoker at the edge of the beer garden. We enjoyed trying many varieties of beer with a few flights and then pints of the better ones. The selection is extensive, with 25+ different beers on tap. We plan to come back soon, and it won't take so long this time. The place is a little hard to find, even for a local like me. I like the fact that they are proud of the hard-to-find location on their merchandise and products. My tip, if you have trouble following Google to get here, is to try the "I Got Lost On The Way...
Read moreWe love visiting breweries and decided to give LauderAle Brewery a try during their anniversary weekend celebration. PROS: despite what we had read, we had no trouble finding the location. They offer inside and outside seating and the decor is typical for a brewery. It was a hot July day and there are fans but no a/c inside. A lot of folks took advantage of the pet-friendly atmosphere. CONS: they do NOT allow "tasting" so you're stuck with whatever you choose - and yes, we would have made some different choices. We have never had that experience at a brewery or vineyard before. There was a DJ playing when we arrived and for the next few hours and the music was extremely loud. He was outside and we sat inside and still could hardly talk to each other. We did not find the bartenders to be very friendly or knowledgeable. When asking questions about the various IPAs, the response was, "it's hazy." Not very helpful when you aren't able...
