Went here last night. Ordered a margarita, MEZCALITO AL PASTOR, and either the tequila was rancid or the pineapple was. I took 2 sips the whole night. Told the waiter that the food was good but that my drink was terrible. He said "sorry about that" and took off. That was it, no offer to bring over something else. The drink sat there all night and it was still on the check at the end of the night.
Food review- I got Pork Tamale and a chile rellenos. I was starving so I ate both. But in honesty the batter on the chile rellenos was really thick and the thickest side was over fried so I pulled it off. The cheese inside was tasty and melty. Pepper cooked properly as well. The red sauce on top is nothing special. The Tamale was mostly corn (very rare I find a Mexican place that balances the meat to masa ratio- but if you want a tip Casa Tequila in Seabrook, NH has the best. The masa was not dry which was nice. No sauce on it so I asked for tomatillos verde sauce on the side. The sauce was nice and tart but no other flavors in it. The rice is decent. refried beans decent.
Order of BACON GUACAMOLE FRESCO as an appetizer... there was one whole leaf of cilantro in it and just no flavors of lime or spice in it. So if you like very plain flavor guac then order it but if not it was a $12.29 waste.
There are plenty of Mexica places to try and I would not...
Read moreHad an impromptu lunch here yesterday with my son while awaiting a nearby appt. When trying any new restaurant for the first time I always keep the order simple in order to assess quality before moving onto something more adventurous. In this case I ordered the marinated steak quesadilla. The steak was perfectly medium rare as ordered and the flavor was beyond delicious. The accompanying guac was perfect, the sc and shredded lettuces could not have been fresher. I should have mentioned that you are greeted with a dish of bean dip sprinkled with cotija and freshly chopped red onion and cilantro fresh salsa and homemade chips.
Son had tacos with pork and plantains and said they were out of this world. Margs were top notch and creatively served. I know this is getting long but I just have to mention how great the place looks. Cleanliness is my number one concern. We had been to the location many times over the years when the kids were little and it was a Chili's. Torito has put their flair into it with shiny new booths and everything else jeuged up. Everything including bathrooms were immaculate.
I rarely need to travel on Rt 1 anymore but I will make a special trip to visit Torito again. I cannot wait to try their ceviche and other more adventurous items on the menu. Service was super friendly...
Read moreThe service was mediocre and the food was okay at best. I typically tip 20% for service post covid, unless my service is substandard, then I'll tip based on service. The server forgot part of our order but charged us for it anyway, showed no interest in her job and was not very engaging. The menu stated that they serve sweetened and unsweetened iced tea, but then told me i had read it wrong and argued with me about it. When we asked for the check, she wrote across the top of our check "20% tip." She became upset that we asked her to correct the check because not all of our items had been served. As if that was bad enough, she became angry at the fact that we were paying with a credit card amd their system was down. She told my wife that we "had" to go get cash to pay for the meal. I had taken a call and stepped outside, so she came out and asked me for cash, luckily i had a $100 bill on me. The bill was for $92 and change. The waitress then told my wife that $100 wasn't enough because it didn't include a 20% tip. Btw, there were only 4 of us, so it wasn't one of those situations where a large crowd was being served and therefore the tip should've been included. Save your money, save yourself some aggravation and definitely enjoy better food...
