I recently had the pleasure of hosting the Monte Vista Men's basketball auction at Norm's Place in downtown Danville, and I can confidently say it was a night to remember! We booked their private room, which recently opened and it was a STATEMENT! From the impeccable service to the amazing cuisine, every aspect of our event exceeded my expectations!

Gerry, the manager at Norm's Place, deserves special recognition for providing stellar service throughout the evening. His attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our event ran smoothly were truly commendable. Gerry and his team went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable.

The staff at Norm's Place was nothing short of amazing. Their professionalism and friendliness added to the overall positive atmosphere of the event. It was evident that they were dedicated to ensuring every guest felt welcome and well taken care of.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the buffet, which boasted a mouthwatering array of dishes. The short ribs were tender and flavorful, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the stuffed mushrooms were a delightful surprise. The mashed potatoes and veggies complemented the main courses beautifully, offering a well-rounded and satisfying dining experience.

To top it all off, the dessert—fruit à la mode—was a showstopper. The combination of fresh fruit and a luscious ice cream made my taste buds dance with joy. It was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.

What impressed me most was the proactive and attentive nature of the Norm's Place staff. We never had to request anything; they anticipated our needs and exceeded our expectations at every turn. This level of service truly set Norm's Place apart.

In conclusion, Norm's Place in downtown Danville delivered an exceptional experience for our Monte Vista Men’s basketball auction. From Gerry's outstanding management to the incredible staff and delicious food, every element contributed to making it a night we'll fondly remember. I highly recommend Norm's Place for any event or dining experience—you won't be...

I am in shock that I am ethically required to write this review. We have been to “Norm’s Place” many times in the past and have had a great experience. Myself, my husband and my 2 young boys came to the restaurant last week. Our waitress was wonderful! She was very attentive kind, and we really appreciated her service. As she was discussing menu items with us, an older man proceeded to interrupt the conversation and yell at her in front of us, and in front of my children. It was baffling and astounding that we had to witness this interaction. The other tables in our vicinity were also visibly and obviously uncomfortable. After he stormed off, we asked her if she was OK and she proceeded to respond saying “it’s OK I’m used to it “. USED TO IT? To hear her respond so casually with that phrase was so upsetting. We asked who he was, and She informed us that he was her manager. We were speechless. I hope that this message is viewed by whomever owns or is responsible for hiring management positions. I have sent out text messages to the people in my Dublin community, informing them of this situation, and to not support a business that verbally abuses their employees in front of customers and small children. I have also created a post in the next-door app to alert anyone in my community to avoid this place at all costs. I will reiterate that the food was scrumptious, the service was excellent, our waitress was wonderful, but I cannot morally financially contribute to an establishment that allows a man to verbally abuse employees in front of families. Considering he publicly reacted in this manner in front of customers, I cannot begin to imagine what goes on behind the scenes. I cannot imagine the long-term effects that this behavior has on anyone who is subjected and “used to” ongoing inappropriate behavior...

We recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, had a less than pleasant experience. Our check came to around $50, and my spouse rounded it up to $60 to include a tip. However, to our surprise, the restaurant charged the credit card an additional $60 for the tip, bringing the total to around $110. When we called to seek clarification and resolve the issue, the initial promise of a same-day investigation was not fulfilled. The next day, when my spouse attempted to follow up, the manager's response was not just unprofessional; it was shockingly rude and dismissive. The manager repeatedly questioned why my spouse was calling for what they considered a mere $60, as if the amount didn't matter. They hung up on my spouse without addressing the concern, leaving us upset. We found the manager's behavior to be completely unacceptable and uncalled for. It was only when my spouse expressed his intention to dispute the $60 charge with his bank that they finally refunded the excess amount. I hope this review serves as feedback for the management to improve their customer service practices and train their staff in dealing with customer concerns professionally. Obviously, we wouldn't go there again, and would strongly discourage everyone from dining there as well. Our experience left us disappointed, not just with the billing issue but also with the manager's unprofessional and rude behavior. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, and unfortunately, this one was...

Can't beat $1 tacos for Taco Tuesday! The magic happens between 3-5pm. We traveled a good way just to try their tacos, and they actually weren't bad! Definitely not the most authentic, but they were full of meat and flavor. There's ground beef, chicken, and carnitas to choose from. We liked the carnitas the best! Unfortunately, there was a wasp outside that continued bothering us (apparently it's a seasonal thing here), so we moved indoors halfway through our meal. Didn't run into any problems after that! We also got some onion rings ($7) as a side snack, which tasted great with ranch on the side (didn't come with ranch, but we asked for it and they were happy to oblige). Prices for non-taco dishes here seem a bit inflated to me, but the downtown area here does seem bougie and pricey to begin with. Really nice and attentive servers, as well. Thanks for a good time, guys!

Norm’s Place in Downtown Danville is an absolute gem! My friends Mark and Ben have taken an already beloved local spot and elevated it to the next level. We host our real estate investing meetup, Bay Area Multifamily & More (BAMM), in their private event space, and it has been nothing short of perfect. The space is spacious, well-appointed, and incredibly accommodating. The food and drinks are top-notch, and the service is outstanding—special shoutout to Ben and the manager Gerry for going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for our events. We couldn’t be more excited to continue growing our meetup at Norm’s Place. Whether you’re coming for a meal, drinks, or a special event, this spot truly delivers. Highly recommend!

Norms Place offers an array of comfort eats and amazing bar with funky décor and great environment. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We went there for a family lunch and relished Wheat Beer, Iced Tea, Apple Juice, Milk (for kids) for drinks with Pickled Chips (awesome), Pretzel and Nachos Grilled Chicken for Starters. Our main course was Crab Clam Chowder, Fried Shrimp, Ali Poke, Chicken Wings and Kids’ Chicken Tenders & Kids Grilled Cheese. The dishes were well cooked, fresh and delicious. The staff are helpful and great.
