Delicious food and cozy. Plenty of food for your money. Well worth it! So, my brother told us about this place (he had so many great things to say) being he has visited several times. So, this trip we decided to check them out. There is nothing like good food when one is away from home especially, seafood. So we went, it was a little crowed and the all you can eat seafood buffet hadn't started (that said a lot about this place). The staft were nice and place were clean & well kept. The food on the buffet looked delicious but, I don't eat fried chicken nor pork but, it looked & smelled delicious. However, the purpose of our visit was for the shrimp and fish (we arrived too early for the seafood buffet). That was fine because the shrimp and fish was DELICIOUS. If you are not a big eater/over indulging eater you will definitely get full and have food left over! Again it is well worth the visit! So, what are you waiting on?! Go, check it out for yourself! Simply good! We will return and highly recommend to everyone!!

Very over priced. I ordered the grilled shrimp and NY strip. My shrimp was so spicy I could barely eat them. I was having to wipe each individual shrimp off with my napkin and they were still so hot my eyes and nose started running. They definitely cleared out my sinuses. My steak was not a NY strip, but a cheap cut of sirloin. My husband ordered the blacked shrimp platter. His shrimp was just burned with absolutely no seasoning. My corn on the cob was extremely small but tasted good. My husband's sides were good, but nothing extraordinary. The sad part is, we drove 5 and a half hours without lunch to enjoy what we thought would be a delicious meal. We were so hungry we just ate what was in front of us. We visit the area yearly and have been satisfied in the past, but price went up and quality went down. Staff was friendly and seem to love working there, but that isn't enough for us to return. We spent around $90 dollars after tip. Just wasn't worth the money.

Went for the umpteenth time to Darien for lunch - there's only one choice - B & J is better than ever. At $9 for an AYCE buffet of Southern comfort food, you just can't lose. The fried chicken is excellent and hot. Pulled pork had a slightly sweet tang that I could not quite place, but it was wonderful. As usual, fresh biscuits were too hot to touch and so light they float off your plate. And the banana pudding - beyond belief. Even if you are a DAMN YANKEE, if you eat this pudding you will have an instant change of heart and pledge allegiance to the SOUTH! In addition to mostly fresh banana and vanilla wafers, there is two inches of FRESH WHIPPED CREAM on top. Just like MAMA made. FABULOUS. The lady next to me ordered the shrimp basket, and it was all I could do to NOT steal some while she wasn't looking. (I seriously considered it - after all, they ARE shrimp).

Service is good & quick! The seafood buffet is fresh, cooked and seasoned well. Most of it is fried, would really like to see grilled or scampi syle like shrimp & scallops. The sides are okay, nothing special. Salad bar is decent but the lettuce mix was on it's last day to be edible. The macaroni & cheese was not good; noodles were mushy & the cheese sauce had broken, having hard bits of cheese clumps. The crab balls, shrimp, fish & clam strips were my favorites. You must try a biscuit, so very good. Dessert options are good, banana pudding, yellow cake with a delicious chocolate icing, strawberry cake with very sweet but yummy strawberry icing, chocolate pudding & chocolate chip cookies. Our drinks were never less than half. It is amazing how the staff keeps the drinks filled, buffet filled & fresh, getting tables cleaned & customers moving. All of this is done in a very small space. Every room is way undersized. Getting to the buffet is a hassle, especially if you're sat in one of the two side areas. There's no central AC, wall units only. It was rather warm in there, thankfully it was overcast on summer day. The restrooms are very small & unpleasant, harder to get to than the food. While overall the food was good, I don't know if I would go back to the buffet again because of the difficulty getting around inside, lack of non-fried & the price at $50 person (with soda & tax). *warning, not wheelchair/walker friendly. Limited...

We were at a foster parent convention on beautiful Jekyll Island and decided to look for an all you can eat buffet. We had heard of a place about 30 miles away from a fellow foster parent but he couldn't remember anything else other than when you signed in the place would get your phone number and text you when it was your time. After searching online I found B&Js. We drove the distance and pulled into the small parking lot with cars overflowing and decided even if it wasn't the same place that was recommended that it had to be great. I gave my name and number and proceeded to wait among the crowd. We chatted with a precious older couple that were locals. They highly recommended that we stay. We were told the wait would be long (we knew it would be). I jokingly told the lady that if we were called first and had a big enough table we would let them sit with us. They actually were called first and they allowed us to sit with their family. This was perhaps the BEST seafood we have ever tried. The crab legs were cooked perfectly. Everything we had on the buffet was equally delicious. The staff was amazingly friendly and the local people was so welcoming. Too bad B&Js is a 5+hour drive from our...

We got off the freeway in search of food at 1:30 on a Wed. Since we were making good time, we decided to pass by the franchise fast food in search of good food and a break. B & J's is so nondescript a building, we would never have noticed it--except for all the cars. What the heck we figured, that's a good sign. While the decor is virtually nonexistent, the food and service were simply outstanding. We sat in what I guess is an addition to the original building--no windows, paneling on the walls, mismatched tables. The restaurant was almost full with a wide variety of customers, and there was a steady flow of folks. We didn't try the buffet, which actually look really good. I had a grilled chicken sandwich which was perfectly cooked, nice fresh bun, wonderful ripe, juicy and flavorful tomato slices. We also had grilled chicken strips (big portion, again perfectly cooked and seasoned), and a Philly Steak sandwich--also great. Even the fries were outstanding, crispy on the outside, light and flavorful on the inside. In my travels, I have paid 3 times as much for a chicken sandwich which was 1/4th as good. I hope they can keep it up, we'll stop there again anytime we're...
