Don't let this restaurant's location in an unassuming southwest suburban strip mall fool you. The food and service is great and the atmosphere warm.

I came here with a large group and together we filled the small dining area. We were really hungry so we worked backwards, starting with off-the-rack baklava washed down with Morrocon coffee and tea. The coffee was strong and pungent; the tea came in steaming swan-necked pots set on a fluffy cosy.

After I'd finished my sweet hors de oeuvre, I ordered a salmon filet with grilled vegetables and rice. Nice portion and well flavored if a little under-spiced. No worries - the very cordial proprietor brought me a side of Martian red harissa. I stirred it into the rice and veggies and it added a nice layer of heat and savoriness.

My fam sampled other menu items. Humus came served with an interesting sprinkling of shaved sumac that brought an interesting pugency to a familiar dish. Lentil soup featured just the right amount of texture and viscosity and the flavor was 3D good. And a side beet salad popped with vibrant color. I could almost taste the antioxidants.

I don't get out to this part of Chicagoland often, so this was a very unexpected taste of Morocco that will stick with me. If you're in the SW burbs, don't sleep...

My boyfriend and I watched a documentary about a local Moroccan diner specializing in tagine meal. It was so inspiring and exotic so we were determined to try. Through some research, I found Taktuka Moroccan Kitchen that gave off authentic and friendly vibe, despite the 40 mile distance. We went and oh, my! The place exceeded our expectations. The place is tiny, unpretentious, but very cosy and welcoming. The gentleman at the front desk was genuinely, accommodating, and humble. He took an extra mile to specifically prepare individual chicken tagine for me to satisfy my curiosity. It was bubbling hot (the video) and uniquely flavorful. My partner had lamb shank tagine, also to die for. We were told they prepare it for 18 hours on low heat. It was melting in the mouth. The staff working at the restaurant are very modest, hard-working, respectful people. We were informed that they would take orders for any variety of tagine if we call in advance. The experience was one of a kind and we are definitely...

We just had the most delicious Moroccan takeout from this spot and honestly — 10/10! My husband and I were craving something flavorful and comforting, and this hit the mark on every level.

We ordered the lemon chicken, chef salad, lentil soup, and the Taktuka sampler — and everything traveled really well, still warm and perfectly packed.

The lemon chicken was insanely good — tender, juicy, and bursting with that rich, tangy preserved lemon flavor. The olives added the perfect salty kick.

The lentil soup was pure comfort — hearty, spiced just right, and perfect for a cozy night in. The chef salad was fresh, crisp, and a great balance to the richness of the other dishes.

But that Taktuka sampler? Absolutely obsessed. Smoky, bold, and full of flavor — every dip was better than the last. It’s the kind of thing you snack on and suddenly realize it’s gone.

Hands down one of the best takeout meals we’ve had in a while. Flavorful, filling, and made with love. Can’t wait to...

We had very high hopes for Taktuka, unfortunately we cannot give it 5 stars like the others. A few things made it hard: 1- We waited more than an hour for our food (understandable -- 4 stars) 2- I was really hoping for the Chicken Tagine to be served in a Tagine which is all the appeal of it! But it wasn't (taste was ok, rice probably needed more time -- 3 stars) 3- The Medina couscous was also ok, but the lamb was probably beef (which is ok) but the couscous tasted very stale, like it was made a couple of days ago or the dry couscous had been sitting in a shelf for years! it just had that stale taste which was unfortunate because the other ingredients and the meat was amazingly done (2.5 stars) 4- Service was good (4.5 stars) 5- No kids menu? (3.5 stars) We will try to come back again in the future in case this was a once in a lifetime miss. I still have high hopes for this place. The stale couscous just destroyed it for me unfortunately 🥲
