Big JJ Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Davenport

Ordered through Ubereats. Gyro Sandwich, Chicken Sandwich, Godfather Burger, Buffalo Wings Mild Sauce, Onion Rings and French Fries. Total was initially driver tip 18% came to 55 but we had a $30 coupon which made it worth a try at $25 for all of it. The whole family taste tested the items. Quality wise every item was fresh and did not have any dryness. Impressed with how much meat was on the gryo. Could have maybe used a tad additional sauce but as gyros go very good. Chicken sandwich was good but did not seem to have any additional flavor personally would have liked some more seasoning but if you are looking for that then this is perfect chicken sandwich for you. Godfather burger was great my daughter loves that for once the jalepeno was on bottom of sandwich. Only other remark was even though see a lot of cheese on it really could not taste cheese. But if you are looking for something different with a kick this is it. Youngest ordered the wings which her sister and I love wings so you know we had to steel one for ourselves try. Sister said at least it did have rubbery texture like hooters so good remark there to indicate fresh. For the taste though the mild sauce to me would be just not as hot for the hot sauce but this one leaned toward ketchup taste with little kick. So taste wise not my cup of tea for a mild buffalo but would be interested to see what the other sauces taste like anywhere time. Lastly the onion rings and French fries. Both were crispy and definitely just fried not ones you get from a freezer. So frying/ crispy was great. Only item is there was an extra taste in there i could not identify. Thought maybe like lemon but my husband tried piece and thinks its the beer in the batter giving it the little tart kick. Definitely a unique taste. We will be trying again but with the price being higher it will be after get another coupon offer. Pictures of the food were...

This place is raved about by other kids in my son's high school so he wanted to try it. I thought it was a fast food place. It is not. It took about 25 minutes for our carryout order to be cooked. Apparently you can pre-order online which I was not aware of. So if you're reading this, random Quad Citian... I recommend ordering ahead.

I also recommend tasting your food before you leave. While the boys' food was really good mine was not. My chicken was cooked in a fish frying vat and seasoned like fish. This is an honest mistake but have you ever eaten fish-flavored chicken? I definitely am not a fan.

This is not a sit down establishment; there's one glass table and 2 chairs in the lobby area but I assume those are often taken by people waiting for their food. The ordering area is clean and they do have air conditioning so it's not uncomfortably hot in there. You can get a meal for $5.99 if you have a yen for chicken. Drinks are an add on cost, not included with your meal.

While I will be trying the chicken strips in the future because my kids really loved it, I don't know that I will be adventurous enough to try anything else and I will be tasting my food before I leave.

Giving it 2 stars at this time because while some food wasn't good, some was. Would have been 3 for a medium experience, but when I tried to call (multiple times) about my food, there was no answer and their voicemail...

This place is horrible. The customer service is beyond disrespectful. I asked for my meat on my gyro burger to be chopped up while making a pick up order. I was met with I can put it on the ticket but I can't promise you anything. I then replied if your unable to accommodate my request let me know, are you able to ask your cook. The lady hung up on me so I went in to try and place the same order but in person. I was met with more disrespect from the cashier saying it's Nothing she can do. I asked if I could talk to the cook and make my request in which she rolled her eyes and went and grabbed the cook. The cook ask me what was my request in which I said I want a double gyro burger with the gyro meat chopped up. They come in long strips I would like them cut into smaller pieces. The cook then ask why how will the sandwich stay together. Then was told NO , WE CANT DO THAT. I thought it was ok to ask for your food to be specialized if you are paying. I recommend they find new employees because the way I was treated was disgusting being that I work in the service industry. I won't be spending another penny in this place. A paying customer can't be accommodate by chopping up the big long chucks of gyro meat on a double gyro burger. The sad part is , I've made this request before and it...
