Double D Diner — Restaurant in Davenport

Edit: April 2024. Under new ownership and I’m hoping the service and food returns to presale. Our fries were under cooked, I had to ask for refills of my coffee and I didn’t get butter on my pancake.

Initial excitement: The menu is full of breakfast items.

Price: Depends, but is reasonable.

Review: We used to dine in. Now, because that is closed, we order to go. They just started the family meals to go. The family meal we ordered was awesome. I’d suggest it.

Star rating: This being a new restaurant, I’m giving them 5 stars. And old restaurant would get 4 stars. I’ve ordered food from there over 15 times. Ive has problems with two meals. The first one, my potatoes were way over seasoned, which they offered to replaced and I declined. They were still edible . And for our great family meal, we didn’t receive our green beans. I called, then drove up to get my green beans. They mad it right without hesitation and they were very apologetic.

End thought: Eat here! If I had the cash, I’d eat here for two out of 3 meals. And the pancakes, so good.

I’ve actually been customer here for over a year and never had a complaint beside this last time I was there I asked for cheese in my eggs everytime I’m there and they forgot this one time and simply asked for the charge to be took off and it got fixed. I came there today with a friend and they MADE get something she did not wanna and asked multiple time not to have. And was forced with it on her plate and wanted to pay for something she asked not to have ! Multiple times. The lady that’s wear purple everyday with the fat face that is chubby and is there everyday and literally most of the time I’m there this whole year 9/10 has a attitude and I never said nothing until today because she told me we always have attitude and a complaint when I said previously the I did not wanna charger for cheese I simply didn’t eat! my 1st experience here today, I ordered the Breakfast Burrito. The burrito itself was very good, full of flavor. The hash browns were a little soggy, but I'm not sure if they are that way because they were stuffed into the burrito or not. The reason for the 2 stars was the cost, the burrito is $11.99, which is very expensive but I knew that going in, but then they tacked on a $1.50 carry out fee??? and then I always tip, so I walked out of there for just under $16.00.... I'm not sure what they are trying to recover from the carryout fee. I was given a standard plastic bag, a Styrofoam clamshell box, and some basic plastic silverware. If you are going to tack on that high of a fee, at least give me some premium carryout items, like a heavy duty recycled paper container, bio degradable silverware, nice napkins. I am willing to try this place again, but I won't be doing carry out. That will limit my...
