I've been making my way around to all of the Dunkin' locations in the Quad Cities area. It wasn't intentional at first, but I found after visiting one of the locations I liked their unique dining room setup. Almost every location has a few comfy chairs, some unique lighting feature, and all of them this far have had some kind of donut that satisfied during my visit. This location on Locust and Division Streets is one of the few that I hadn't made it to yet, so I decided to stop by as a part of yet another lazy Sunday afternoon.
Many of the features of this Dunkin' are present at the others as well. There's a mural custom to this location of various people walking with coffee in their hands, wall painted orange, brown, or beige, and a donut rack and shelf of coffee clearly present in the dining area. The floors contain a tan-brown 1 foot square tile, while the overhead has a drop ceiling, lit by a combination of florescent and accent lights throughout.
What's missing from this location is notable too, however. There's no set of comfy, upholstered chairs in any part of the dining room, a major feature that I really enjoy about Dunkin' and honestly, most other coffee shops. There's also no unique suspended lighting fixtures here, only a few semi-conical lights hung over the one high to bar seating along the windows. All this being said, there's also just a lot of open space in the store, as if there should be more seating or fixtures present. It's kinda weird
I opted for a few glazed munchkins on this visit, which I was able to pay for quickly and sit down to consume shortly thereafter. They were on par with munchkins from the other locations. Nothing more to say really about the donuts.
Maybe the place is remodeling? They still have the old Dunkin' Donuts branding that everyone has switched away from in favor of the Dunkin' rename that happened a year or two back. I don't really know. It would be nice if they got a few comfy chairs at least....
Read moreI read through past comments.. Employees can't understand customers and seem like rocks, donuts are always out, they make food but then make everyone wait for their coffees, My experience ordering a breakfast sandwich daily for a week with a few other items on each order.. Sandwich always fresh but made first while we wait for everything else. Coffee never seems to be mixed well or made right, hot chocolate seemed like motor oil not mixed well at all, french vanilla cappuccino w shot of espresso seemed mostly empty, Powdered donuts were all dyed orange for Halloween and looked very unappetizing.
When I asked if they couldn't make a few without orange to look more appealing for the next day and I would order they simply said the orange doesn't affect the taste and is for the holidays. Yuck I won't order orange powdered nasty looking donuts. It's not even a pretty orange color. Nope sorry
One small breakfast sandwich, small coffee and one donut should not be 10 dollars. Outrageous prices. You are not Starbucks or in a big city, why the...
Read moreWas trying to order ice cream the lady was confused we were asking for ice cream (for those of you not knowing it's a Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin Donuts together) I asked for Sunday ended up getting two single scoops of plain chocolate ice cream and I didn't even order plain chocolate ice cream when my friend's daughter wanted two scoops of marshmallow ice cream in one cup we got up front to pay they had put it into separate containers which we were okay with that but we asked them to still just charge us for the two scoops in one container like we had ordered (it costs more to have the separate container) since it wasn't our mistake it was theirs and once again she looked at us like we were at the wrong place and she didn't understand I mean I could have said here take this back and put it in one container please. Just a horrible experience if the line wasn't so long for the drive-through since we can't go inside I would have turned back around and had them fix it but was just too frustrated for waiting as long as...
