Gypsy Highway — Restaurant in Davenport

We went here after a funeral of a husband/brother/good friend to celebrate his life and at almost every step and on every level this staff ruined that for all of us...our waitress and I use that term lightly ,came and took our drink order and food order new nothing about the menu couldn't tell me what gypsy jam even was ,got told it was jelly so I went with teriaky wings and a margarita instead another friend ordered the combination app was asked if the 4 options were ok when asked what other options she could get was told I'm not sure..my wife ordered an angry orchard asked if she wanted draft or bottle she said draft so we waited and waited got told I could not get wings cuz they were out so ordered curds with ranch instead still at this point had no drinks was told we were waiting on the bartender( ok this is a group of 6 people on a Monday with 8 other people in the bar tops )asked well can we get 2 Pepsi so we had something to drink.. then our food finally came out handed the widow her drunken chicken that was actually shrimp scampi the combo app that was not to have mushrooms due to an alergy still with mushrooms also still no drinks at this time I mean how is it possible food comes out before the drinks and most were mixed up or wrong .....then my curds came out along with my wife's draft beer in a bottle we asked for draft she said oh well we don't have that on draft got told they were waiting on ingredient for my margarita still no Pepsi when asked she said well didn't think u would want it still ....um hello I ordered them so why would i not want it..so then after all of these mistakes one of our group pulled her to the side and explained the situation to her and another employee that was not working tried to make everything right got us a round on the house and a discount but this wasn't the end .....we ordered 2 jagarbomb got 2 patrons ...the brother tried to do a shot of Jameson to honor his brother cuz that was his brothers go to shot was given Jack and told they were out of Jameson also between the widow and myself we ordered 6 margaritas and every one was a different color for some reason ...then when we were paying our bills one girl asked to have the widow and her friends put on to one ticket to pay for them then they still made a mistake on that and over charge her have her 10 in cash back then she gave her a 20 and the 10 to take care of her the tip giving her 2 5 back and when the waitress went inside she came back saying she took the 20 cuz she didn't have it and we showed her that we didn't have it and demanded the 10 back cuz she didn't have the 20 when she went inside I noticed the 20 laying by the door where SHE dropped it....i mean at this point she had messed up one of the hardest night for us I mean then accuse us of taking her money really u didn't even deserve the tip at this point but ur gonna ask for it.. then we were gonna do one last toast tried to order Jack cuz we know ur out of Jameson only to get told u are now out of Jack so we had to do jagarbombs..... those are pretty big things to be out of ...these are just the mistakes I remember this night was stolen from us all due to lack of training proper staffing and clearly leadership and a lack caring about customers at all we had asked her to right stuff down we tried to make it easy on her we just wanted to celebrate the life of a dear person to us and the staff that night was oblivious to that fact...the red head employee that was OFF was the only person that cared about any of it I for one will never be back after what was the worst experience I have ever had and with the lost of my friend this was salt in...

I am guilty of judging a book by its cover and never thought to go into this place based on the way it looks outside. I also thought that if it was connected to a Dollar General that it couldn't be something worth my time. That was my mistake and I'm glad that my spouse brought me here with some friends because it was a definite eye-opening experience of great food, great service and one of the most awesome atmospheres I've experienced in Davenport.

The inside establishment is very well put together and very clean and very spacious. The service was fantastic even on a busy Saturday night. Our waitress was extremely friendly and extremely helpful with talking over the menu and daily specials as well as the drink menu.

They have a live music outdoor area as well as indoor. The food is a combination of American bar food and Asian Cuisine. We stopped in to try the Asian Cuisine and was extremely impressed. The party of four that I was a part of each got a Asian dish and all four dishes were easily a five-star meal. The menu items that we selected were the following:

Thai yellow curry 5⭐️ Thai garlic pepper and broccoli your way 4⭐️ Pad Thai 5⭐️ Vegetable stir fry 5⭐️

I will happily come back as soon as possible so I can try more food menu items. My goal for the next year is to try everything on the menu.

One thing I would ask, add fresh spring rolls with a peanut dipping sauce to the menu. That would be an awesome edition to the menu outside of the deep-fried spring rolls.

Overall, this is definitely a Hidden Gem in Davenport and I cannot wait to come back and try more...

An absolutely amazing fun experience. We happened here by chance on a Saturday night, only based on the prior reviews. We got here early and watched as the evening took form. Before the band started, we ate a variety of appetizers and all were super yummy: awesome peel and eat shrimp...larger and better tasting than our favorite seafood restaurant back home; fabulous crab stuffed mushrooms; excellent crab rangoon. Our battered fish dinner was so perfect... very big piece of fish, very tasty. The house specialty drinks are very good and priced right. As the evening progressed, we watched as dozens of happy loyal locals came for a fun safe night of dancing and music. Everyone was having a great time. The place is big and has a variety of games to play... pool, pinball, darts, and more...all in great shape. The staff all are such hard workers and they really know how to provide the kind of friendly service folks want. Everything was priced so reasonably...a whole night of fun didn't cost much. The band on Saturday March 22, a metal cover band, was so fun and funny... the $8 cover was a total bargain. We loved them, and dancing with the locals was a blast... you can really feel free to be yourself and have fun here. Thank you Virgil and all for a super fun and surprising time, and thanks for the stickers you gave us. Much appreciated. Five stars...
