Snapper Mike's — Restaurant in Davie

DO NOT COME HERE, ever!

Despite this "fish market" being distinct from the farm, I would never patronize this establishment solely due to the behavior of its staff. The market offers only about four options, and my experience was far from satisfactory. I ordered a ceviche, which, as a cold dish, is typically ready to be eaten immediately. However, they served me raw shrimp, explaining that it needed to marinate for 30 minutes to cook. This explanation is baffling, as consuming raw shrimp is hardly conventional.

When I attempted to return the dish, the staff responded rudely, stating, "But you ordered it." Indeed, I did, but what I received was not what I ordered. The young lady, whose inexperience might have contributed to the issue, remarked, "You wasted a quarter of perfectly good shrimp!" I was so taken aback that all I could do was laugh. For the best locally caught fish I highly recommend Snapper Mikes. Used to stop in to see them every weekend at YG farmers market, they have now moved to an even better location at Marando Farms in Davie. Mike and his wife Jazz are the nicest people and run a great business, when we stopped by the ranch for the first time Jazz went out of her way to show us around and introduce us to the other vendors. I love that on the weekends they put up an Instagram post showing you what they have available for that day but I recommend getting there early or calling ahead if there is a specific fish/ quantity that you are looking for. This place is awesome!! I'm always craving raw oysters and happened upon this place while visiting my sister in Hollywood Florida from Port Saint Lucie Florida and let me tell you freshest oysters, creamy and sweet the snapper was so fresh it fried perfectly!! And the customer service is beyond measure they as people say treat you like family here. The prices were affordable and they even gave us some free smoke mackerel for buying there. Folks you wont regret stopping by here they even have a restaurant on site that I'm sure serves the best and freshest...
