I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Wicked Wilderness Pub in Davis, West Virginia, and I must say, it was an experience that left me eager to return. From the moment you step into this cozy establishment, you're greeted with a warm, rustic atmosphere that feels both welcoming and distinctly West Virginian. The food at Wicked Wilderness Pub was simply delightful. The menu offers a comforting array of dishes that cater to a variety of tastes, from hearty mountain fare to lighter options.
Service at the pub was equally impressive. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to share recommendations or anecdotes about Davis. Despite the pub being quite busy, our server managed to keep our glasses full, our needs met, and our spirits high with their engaging conversation. There's a genuine sense of community here, where locals and visitors alike mingle with ease.
The ambiance is genuinely kitsch-fun rustic without being overdone. I’ve heard that live music on some nights, adding to the charm and making it an ideal spot for a casual evening out.
In conclusion, Wicked Wilderness Pub is definitely a gem in Davis, WV. If you're looking for good food, excellent service, and a place where you can unwind in a rustic setting, this is the spot. Read moreWicked Wilderness Pub in Davis is an absolute must-visit! I was immediately drawn in by the specials board featuring Crab Bombs and Peach Cobbler. The Crab Bombs were an unexpected delight – a perfect blend of crispy exterior and flavorful crab cake interior, wrapped up in a deep fried ball.
Our first night, I couldn't resist the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos. The sauce was a fantastic blend of flavors with a subtle smoky kick. The tacos were packed with shrimp and toppings, leaving me full, but not too full for cobbler. Home baked with fresh peaches, covered with rum sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream - wickedly delicious! On our second visit, the chicken pot pie was comfort food perfection. The rich, buttery sauce, rainbow of veggies and generous chunks of chicken made it a standout dish.
The staff was friendly and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. They even let us know about a concert at one of the local horse stables on Saturday night! Both of my Long Island Iced Teas were tasty and perfectly poured.
The pub's atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy delicious food after an adventurous day in the mountains....
Read moreI rarely ever complain about my food or leave a bad review, but wow. We arrived around 4 to 5pm on a Friday with only one poor unhappy waitress working. The manager did check on us and got us our beers. Customer service was not bad, but I may as well have put $55 on my grill and burned it. I ordered an extra beer just to drown my disappointment. I love supporting local business, but I don't understand how you could mess up such simple dishes. You guys seriously need a real chef. How hard is it to make alfredo? The dish my husband received was inedible garlic butter noodles with parmesan sprinkled on. It wasn't even a white sauce. It even came out looking dry. The chicken we paid an extra 3.00 for was overcooked and literally had the texture of rubber. I ordered the chicken pot pie with high hopes. The biscuit on top was lovely and flakey, but the dish underneath in the Mason jar was bland and my potatoes were still cold inside. It tasted worse than a pot pie from the freezer section at walmart. How is that even possible? I left a good tip only because I felt bad for the waitress having to...
