After our favorite restaurant, Joe's Italian Grill, moved out of Liberty to Crosby and then closed completely, we didn't think there were people in this area who could appreciate real Italian food because nobody supported the place. Pro tip from a New York Italian, Domino's is not Italian food. Nor is Papa Johns. That said, imagine our extremely pleasant surprise when we went in to get a pizza to try and found it nearly identical to the quality of Joe's pizza and very much on a par with what we grew up on back in New York. We were very happy with the pizza. So we went this past Saturday for dinner because pizza and entrees are two things that can be done very differently with wildly varying quality. Real to report that all of the different entrees we got wer write on a par with what we used to have and everything was delicious. Italian restaurant cannot make a simple marinara is little chance they're going to get anything else right, and Tuscany has fantastic marinara, fra diavolo and arrabbiata sauce as well as alfredo. Also not to be missed, somehow their house dressing is identical to what we used to get at Joe's. It's a tomato based Italian dressing and it is fantastic. Past that, the Italian sausage they use paste legit, the pasta is not overcooked, the sauces are very flavorful and multi-layered, the quality is just there. I didn't want to pry but from our standpoint everything was almost exactly as it was at the other place and we were wondering if the new place is related or not or at least if they got some of the same people cooking, which is where the quality of the food comes from. A common mistake in doing eggplant parmigiana is to cut the slices of eggplant too thick so that they don't fry up properly and are tough and chewy. Mom and Dad reported the eggplant as being thin enough to fry crisp but just enough to have a nice bite, and the taste was right on the money. The shrimp in my shrimp and sausage arrabiata were massive and nicely browned along with the sausage. Sauce had a very nice hot kick to it. Same with the fra diavolo which was just a bit less spicy than they arrabbiata and also a wee bit different in the color and texture, different enough to stand on its own and delicious. We will miss Joe's Italian Grill, but with Tuscany being right in Dayton, it's easy enough to get to and we will definitely be going. I hope others will come out and support...
Read moreWe sat down expecting the usual Italian restaurant experience, we tried 3 dishes an appetizer and a Desert.
1.The cheese bread (Focaccia) was lightly toasted and delicious, seasoned just enough and had an amazing cheese pull.
2.The Spaghetti Works was everything they promised lol. It had meatballs, sausage and the sauce was delicious with the perfectly cooked pasta. (Each meal came with a light and refreshing salad).
The fettuccine Alfredo came and was delightful. The noodles and house made sauce surprised us with their amazingly satisfying textures. (We ordered the dish with breaded chicken instead of grilled and we did not regret it). I personally got the Chicken parm sub, the sliced chicken, and house-made marinara sauce were amazing, the lightly toasted bread gave a satisfying crunch. (I ordered mine with black olives and it was great).
The Cannoli for desert was amazing. The crunch to the pastry with the delightful creaminess of the filling made for a perfect end to the meal.
All in all the servers were top notch with fun conversation and prompt service. They took great pride in their work and the restaurant. 5/5 would recommend to anyone seeking real...

Let me tell you, it's a hidden gem with scrumptious Italian food that could make even the most serious foodie like us weep with joy. Everything was made from scratch, and the desserts, and the bread oh my? Wowza! Your sauce was devine... Just a tiny suggestion: a good hot cup of coffee with those delicious desserts would be like icing on the cake—literally! We savored every bite and can’t wait to come back for more, especially that pizza we want to try next! ( It looked heavenly)
