Boundary Waters Restaurant — Restaurant in De Motte

This review is really a response for Mr. Dan Kimmet's review of Boundary Waters that he wrote Sunday, March 27, 2022. I am the waitress who waited on his wife and him. I tried but couldn't respond to his review. First of all, he complained about the shrimp and said that his "brother" had the shrimp the night before not his co-worker as he said in his review. When he informed me of the giant shrimp his brother had I went to ask my boss about it. She said that she had received a bag of the colossal shrimp from her supplier and that they had to use it. To compensate for the size, she gave less shrimp and went by weight. So, instead of eight of the regular shrimp we normally serve our customers she only gave six of the colossal shrimp. I NEVER told Mr. Kimmet that she was out of the jumbo shrimp. I told him that she had used the shrimp that we normally don't use and that's why his wife got 8 instead of 6 shrimp as his brother did the night before. I can not believe how bad the service was last night on a Friday night! Sorry folks! This might be a long one. We got there at 7:30pm they had plenty of servers and people to clean up tables. The place wasn't that busy at all. It took them 30 mins to get us seated. While we waited there looking at empty tables full of trash and left over food where people had finished there dinner. We finally sat down at a table at 8:00pm ordered our food and we waited till 9:30pm for our food to arrive!! You would think after waiting that long for food it would be fresh and hot, right? Nope!! Everyone's food was cold!! EVERYONE'S!! It's pretty sad when we have to ask for plates and silverware too! We went to this restaurant after seeing my co-workers shrimp he brought home from the night before. This jumbo shrimp was huge,truly jumbo. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant out as we both love jumbo shrimp. First the good, the bread was very good as well as the salads,and Cole slaw. My wife ordered the "jumbo" shrimp. As u can see by pictures these were medium to large shrimp. You can't double bread shrimp and call them jumbo, very disappointing. She said they were ok but not what we ordered. When we asked waitress, she said owner said they ran out of jumbo, so gave her 8 instead of 6. Don't advertise jumbo then give large or medium in place. Bad business practices.
