Cajun Crab & Sharks Fish & Chicken (West Grand) — Restaurant in Decatur

Food delicious, but god forbid they screw up your order. They charged us and gave us the wrong order, when asked if the order was correct and listing the items ordered they stripped the label off the bag and blankly told us it was correct. We get home to find the wrong order was given and called them. They told us to come in that our food had been ready and to bring the wrong order back in. When we told them it’s not that easy to just come back and asked if there would be some kind of compensation the lady stated she would do that when we got there. So we came back. She reimbursed the wrong order and asked us to pay the correct amount. We asked about the reimbursement and she stated that because they were completely correcting it they would not add any discount. I asked about the food that had been setting out for probably about an hour at that point and she stated that it was fresh when we arrived. I stated she claimed on the phone that it had been ready and she changed her statement to be that she checked that it was fresh when we called, still an easy 20 minutes (and Luke warm at best). When I looked to my husband for his thoughts she very rudely commented, you can just not take the food. She was insanely rude, and very entitled the entire time and wrote us completely off from the moment we stepped in the door. Cajun Crab & Shark and Chick in Decatur is a nice little spot to duck into when you’re craving some good seafood. I decided to give it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The shrimp were big and flavorful, and the fish was cooked perfectly — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. It’s clear they take pride in how they prepare their food.

The portion sizes were also impressive, especially for the sides. You definitely won’t leave here hungry. Everything came out hot and fresh, and it all had that comfort-food quality that makes you want to come back. It’s not fancy dining, but it’s the kind of spot that focuses more on taste than frills, and that’s fine by me.

I'm from the free state of Ohio and I dred when my employer sends me to the peoples republic of Illinois. However imagine my surprise when I google food near me and see Cajun Crab & sharks fish & Chicken. I decided to door dash my dinner to avoid exposure to the Illinois "Drivers". This dining experience has brought joy to my time in this state. I ordered a bag of mud bugs, Sausage, potatoes, and corn. All I can say it was amazing. I did find the smaller craw fish over cooked but do understand how food works when it's delivered and not fresh so no big deal. The garlic butter is amazing and I recommend this place to anyone in the area who enjoys seafood. I will definitely order from here again whenever I am forced to come to this dismissal place.
