I love to visit this place. Would be better if they made a few changes. Dogs sitting at the tables is just disgusting. Even if they have their own chair. They belong on the ground. Not at the tables. I am a dog lover btw. Also, there is a no smoking policy but apparently it only applies to some people and not to "regulars". Next time I think I will sit at the other end of the patio or inside. Update: I really enjoy coming when there is music of Hawkeye games. They are pretty busy and it is a fun crowd.
After returning several times, I noticed that smoking is allowed depending on who is working and the smoker(s). They will hide their cigarettes. But you can still smell the smoke. ( I am allergic).
The leash rule doesn't seem to be enforced. I like dogs but when I bring my dog he is leashed. If me or my dog get attacked or bitten, I won't be happy. There are a lot of "oh my dog is friendly he won't bite anyone" cases where the dog bit someone.
Looking forward to coming back with my friends when the food starts being served. I just hope I am not surrounded by the other patron's dogs waiting for us to drop something...
Read moreDixie’s, you’re impressive! My favorite go-to spot in Decorah!! Soooo many fantastic tap options, literally something for everyone, including NA options. I love that the options are always rotating so I can try something new with each visit! Your kitchen addition has been incredible - it’s clear only the best ingredients are used and that the staff passionately cares about the delicious appetizers and meals being created! This is elevated “bar food” that doesn’t disappoint, I have loved everything I’ve ordered and you won’t find anything else that compares in Decorah! I also appreciate that you’ve kept the taproom environment with the added bonus of food. The self-service works wonderfully, no waiting, just order at the bar when you’re ready - it’s genius! All of your staff is always happy and friendly, making it a place that’s enjoyable to visit. If the parking lot is full, find a spot on the road, I promise it’s worth it!! Thanks Dixie’s for always being so welcoming and making our taste buds...
Read moreNice warm, inviting atmosphere. Spacious patio with a great view and friendly doggies belonging to patrons. Lots of variety on tap. About half the beers are constant and the other half is always rotating with new/different beers. I think they feature at least 1 of every type of beer lagers, stouts, sours, pilsners, IPAs and usually at least one beer from Pivo. They don't care if you order/bring food from outside. If you don't feel like driving up the hill to TG's facility, Dixies has the more common TG brews available. EVERY single bartender is awesome and great with the customers. This place is like Cheers but with craft beer! ...
