Korea Place — Restaurant in Dededo Municipality

The food was good. I would say 3 stars for taste only because the sauce was sweet for my taste and all of the beverages are bottled. It's ambitious to put a service restaurant in a mall food court. They do have beer, wine, and soju available. The drinks come along with kimchi, potatoes, and bean sprouts as is tradition with Korean food. The entré came with a bowl of steamed rice. The wait staff is so far inexperienced. 1.5 stars for service, midway between fast food and a diner. There was one senior waiter there when I first sat down and she knew how to do her job, hopefully she will be teaching the others. The atmosphere is a solid 3 stars. It's not very cozy but they did do an excellent job shutting out the mall noise. Plus they have a bar and I always love having that option. Seating capacity is 38 at tables plus 4 high chairs and 22 at the bar, but I can't imagine there ever being 60 people in there. Overall I gave it a three because I'm optimistic about the wait staff gaining experience. There was a slight language barrier with English. As far as the mall goes, it's a top pick for the price. I had fond memories of eating kalbi at Korea Place during my lunch break when I used to work at the mall, but that was over a decade ago.

I went there recently with my hubby, and the kalbi was still pretty good (and very tender), but the bulgogi did not look very appetizing.

What I noticed more than the unappetizing bulgogi, however, was how quickly our server tried to get away after giving our food. She didn't ask if there was anything else we needed, never checked on us to see if we were okay, and it was difficult to get her attention when we wanted our leftovers wrapped. Even at that, she took our leftovers, wrapped them, then went off to set another table before finally bringing our doggy bag.

Three stars is being generous, but overall, their staff definitely needs training in customer service. I love Korean food, but probably will not come...

As a Korean myself, I have high standards when it comes to Korean food. Some Korean restaurants in Guam don’t taste as good, but this place is amazing for Korean cuisine. I love how delicious the food is, and the service here is amazing. They’re super nice & super friendly. The food tastes great and I would come back here again. I got the squid bulgogi & kalbi.
