Pepper Lunch is new to Guam and located in the Micronesia mall first floor, theater side. The experience was similar to pepper lunch in Japan with some slight differences. Here you order at the counter and pay before you take your seat.
The staff was very friendly and attentive, they did not have the mouth guards that the Japan staff uses but the restaurant looks like the pepper lunches you find everywhere.
Now to the food...the classic pepper rice and the hamburger steak where not bad, good portions and served in a hot skillet so you know your food is hot and fresh. Unfortunately the meat were not as tender as what Japan's pepper lunch offers. The classic pepper rice was more chewey and we found a bone in our meal, it was tiny but it felt like chewing on a filling.
The hamburger steak was harder than their Japanese counterpart. Usually the hamburger steak is softer. Overall the experience was ok, felt a bit rushed but that could be because they just opened and had a line 30 minutes long. Must eat if you never had pepper...
Read moreI’ve been a regular at Pepper Lunch Guam for a long time; it’s always been one of my go-to spots. The food usually comes out hot and flavorful, and I’ve always loved the sizzling experience.
But recently, I’ve had a concerning experience. On my last two visits, I noticed that shortly after eating, I started feeling stomach pain like a really uncomfortable ache. This has never happened before, and I haven’t changed anything about what I ordered. It made me wonder if something has changed recently with the ingredients, preparation, or food safety.
I hope this is just a one-time thing, but I wanted to share my experience in case others have felt the same. I still love the concept of Pepper Lunch and hope to return, but I’m more cautious now. If the restaurant has made any changes to how food is handled or sourced, I’d appreciate some...
Read moreThis place was surprisingly very good! Usually things to live up to the hype for me but this place did and exceeded it. The only reason it's 4 stars is the drinks. As I write I'm thinking of just putting 5 but I want my reviews honest. The beef taste was there and of course it came out hot and sizzling. We had the Teryaki beef, Kimchi beef and the chicken plate. Everything was just perfect and tasty. The kimchi was excellent too. Nothing to complain about except the drinks. They 7-up was almost flat and not much options for those that don't want something from the soda fountain. The service was excellent too. They educated us on how to eat there and described the sauces on the table. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to taste the beef flavor in their meat...
