I went to Wawa for the first time today to see what the hype was about. Overall I was pleased. Wawa is clean and the three people working inside were all friendly.
GAS: The gas at Wawa on Powerline and Sample was the same price as the 7-Eleven up the road, but .06 cheaper than the Shell that's 2 miles north. The fueling stations were very clean and the entire area was well-lit.
STORE: The store was insanely clean! Spotless. I was very impressed. I only saw one piece of trash on the floor and it was a hot sauce packet. With this being my first time in a Wawa, I took my time and walked throughout the store to see what they carried. They have countless types of potato chips. They have a large selection of beverages, including their own private labeled teas and lemonades. They have inexpensive beverages that you can get from a Coca-Cola freestyle machine. I love tea, and was pleased by the variety of hot tea they offered.
FOOD: The hot food at Wawa is what everyone talks about. So I had to give it a try. I ordered a buffalo chicken hoagie, a small cheddar broccoli soup and a small chipotle mac and cheese.
The hoagie was good, not great, but good... good enough for me to try some other Wawa sandwiches in the future. It was much more filling than I expected... A quarter of it is in my fridge... Hopefully it reheats well haha.
I would rate the chipotle mac and cheese a 3.5 out of 10. The chipotle sauce was put on top of the mac and cheese, so I had to pour it out and mix it around to spread the chipotle flavor. The pasta had an overcooked texture.
The soup was better than I expected. It was hot, had a good consistency and was very tasty. It was my favorite of the three items. I would order the soup again in a second.
All in all, it was a pleasant visit. I will frequent this Wawa for gas. While I won't be eating here regularly, I will be stopping in time to time...
Read moreI come here all the time. I love Wawa, but this place has a few improvements to make before I give it a 5 star rating. Let's start with the good: Odililys' customer service is always ☆☆☆☆☆. She's always pleasant and puts out great energy. She's knows her customers and always has a smile on her face. She's makes this place a great stop during a long work shift. I'm actually surprised that she's not a manager there considering her customer service skills. Rose is very sweet and genuine. No matter what time you come into the store, she always provides great customer service too.
Now the bad: The people at their deli area need to step it up. Half the time your order is messed up, the other half it isn't available, but you don't find out until after they charged your card and have to go back to the register to go through the refund process. You pay for "extra" this or that and get it added to your sandwich or bowl only 60% of the time, but you don't realize it until you've left the place so you ultimately get ripped off because you're not going to waste $5 in gas to get a $.75 or $1.50 refund. When you want to get something customized, even though it's an option on the order board, it's like asking your enemy for a favor. You get a wicked glare even if your request was to leave something off the item. They're mad about having one less thing to do? Ridiculous. Then when you order a sandwich they don't put the cheese on first. They used to. Not sure why that changed. They add all the wet food items first then the cheese etc....then they toast it and you end up with soggy bread and your sandwich falling apart. It's practically inedible. Back again to getting ripped off. Now I just limit myself as to what I can order without a problem because they can't seem to get it right. I wish corporate would step in and correct...
Read moreThis is the second time that I’ve visited this location and I wasted a coupon. The first time I visited the store, I saved up enough points to where I could get a free smoothie. I activated the coupon and was given a time limit on when I could use it. Because I tried using self check out, the machine screwed up and I wasn’t able to use the coupon. I tried getting help that day, but everyone was busy and there wasn’t anyone to help me. I lost my points that day. the second time was recently. I ordered breakfast on my phone, had enough points to use a coupon to get a free smoothie and again tried using self check out. When I got to the self check out, the machine wasn’t acting right so I needed help from an employee. The employee deleted the entire order and told me to place the order again. The coupon had less then 3 minutes to use it and I had only a few minutes to “place the order again”. By that point, I had to leave and waste even more points for which I will never get back. I earned both of those points and earned both of those coupons. The fact that there’s a time limit on those coupons is ridiculous because for a situation like this, I didn’t have time to use it and I lost points. Wawa...
