I'm extremely frustrated with my recent experience with "CarDrop." I initially received a Kelley Blue Book (KBB) Instant Cash offer of $9,745 for my Jeep. I knew they were going to come back with something less but either way I brought my vehicle to Car Drop with the cash offer in hand. The appraiser claimed they had to reduce the offer by $3,000 due to my check engine light. I explained that it could very well be on for something as simple as a spark plug or gas cap as it has come on for that in the past and it shouldn’t depreciate the value by that much. Regardless I declined their offer and a few days later I took my Jeep to a shop to find out why exactly it was on. Turns out I needed to replace a fuel injector, a filter, and a gasket, fair enough. I successfully resolved the check engine light issue. I returned to Car Drop to get it reappraised. After a notably longer wait than their advertised "10-minute appraisal”, the manager then provided me with an utterly unacceptable offer and an even more egregious excuse for said offer, stating that they hadn't truly appraised the vehicle during my previous visit. Oh so last week when I spent 30 minutes here talking with the appraiser that apparently wasn’t real? Despite my investment in repairing the check engine light issue which was the excuse for the previous low ball offer, they were only willing to offer me $6,500. $6,500 for a 2012 Jeep Wrangler with 107k miles?! My rims and 33” tires alone are worth $3K. A Jeep that DOESN’T RUN would be worth more than their offer. Their rationale for the reduced offer? No back seats, a “slight” ticking sound and rust underneath the Jeep. First of all, back seats cost $300 brand new. Ticking sound from the engine? Blatant lie. It was LITERALLY just in the shop 30 minutes earlier. I told the shop to fix everything needed and remove the light. There’s no “slight ticking”. Rust underneath the carriage…okay? It’s an 11 year old vehicle, it has some rust. This experience feels nothing short of a scam. If you're considering selling your vehicle, I strongly advise looking elsewhere, unless you're in dire straits and are comfortable with the idea of your vehicle being egregiously undervalued. UPDATED RESPONSE TO OWNER: Pretty bold for you to insinuate that I’m the one being dishonest. I brought the car in for the appraisal fully aware that your team would be inspecting and appraising the vehicles condition so there was no dishonesty or attempt to hide anything regarding the condition of the Jeep, so let’s get that straight. I am not a dishonest person and I don’t appreciate you implying that I am. If you want to take into consideration that there’s no back seats and that hurts the resale then you should also take into consideration the $2,000 rims in perfect condition that HELP the resale value. You mentioned nothing of the sort regarding the condition of the front 33” tires when we had our post inspection discussion but either way, I wouldn’t have disagreed or even been upset about that going into the consideration of the value of the vehicle (they’re $700 by the way for two brand new Firestone tires I already got a quote when I brought the vehicle in to get the check engine light fixed). The “engine tick” is based on your appraisers impression on what it COULD be. So what did I do? I brought it to a MECHANIC, who has no skin the game, to give me an HONEST evaluation of what was needed and he did exactly that; resolving the issue. There was no more engine tick and no more check engine light. I didn’t “hear what I wanted to”. I brought to an actual mechanic to diagnose the issue and fix it, which he did. Now for the SURFACE rust under the Jeep. Surface rust under Jeeps IS common and is a minor problem that can be easily remedied with a wire brush and sandpaper. The rust is not structurally rotting throughout the undercarriage and hurting the integrity of the frame. It’s surface rust. If you came back and said, you had to take $1000, maybe even $1,500 for the tires and seat; that’s understandable. But $3,292 off IS egregious

When my friend mentioned there is a guy with a sign infront of carmax and their shop is down the street saying they will beat carmax pricing... sounded little sketchy... boy were my husband and I surprised- 10min appraisal (we had an offer from carmax online already, so we were ready to do the "back and forth") but none needed - came in gave an offer and yes it was more than carmax - paperwork done everything less than 30min!! Insane!! Highly recommend! Bye Journey we loved you!!

I just sold my minivan at Car Drop and I could not be happier. They offered me more than all of the other places I got quotes from including Car Max and a few dealers. I also posted it for sale online and didn’t find a buyer. So save yourself time and just come here from the beginning. The process was incredibly efficient. The whole process took less than 20 minutes and I’m walking out with a check. They were very professional and honored the quote they gave me online.

After getting an online Edmunds Carmax estimate and an estimate from my Toyota dealership I decided to take a look at cardrop after receiving a flyer at Costco entrance exit a few months ago that I had saved. In case you got one of those handouts many months ago please note they have moved to 3541 NW 14th Ave, Pompano Beach, FL 33064 as of this writing. Anyway I checked their online reviews and was very impressed with their reviews as well as how they respond professionally to any one who seems dissatisfied by clearing up any confusion about what happened that they may have misperceived by the potential seller. I just showed up today with my online Edmunds Carmax estimate and online estimate by kbb (Kelly Blue Book) combined with an in person Toyota dealership inspection offer for my car without an appointment with a friend who I would ride home with. I was confident after reading so many reviews that I would be satisfied with their offer. I was not disappointed as I accepted their offer of $2400. that was $200 over online Carmax estimate and $400 over Toyota dealership in person offer. Good experience with Kelsey and the two men who all helped in the process. All were very friendly, helpful and professional. It was quick too with about 10 minutes to figure out an offer and 10 minutes for more paperwork. They made it all as easy as possible. Now I just need to return my newly issued license plate to my local DMV and cancel my insurance with a text picture of the bill of sale to my insurance agent I got permission to text to. Very satisfied and would recommend to anyone wanting to sell their car for a quick and best price from really nice people in a...
