From serving up smiles to serving up disappointment.
On 7/13, My girlfriend and I decided after dinner we wanted to walk on down to what use to be our favorite ice cream Shoppe. We started our walk around 8:30 and it is about 1.9 mile walk. After arriving we had a group of people at the walk up window waiting to receive a few spoons from the front window. After a minute or two, she comes back with their requested items. We walk up and are told that the walk up window is closed, however the drive through is open for another 30 minutes. This is absurd, since we just waited 3 minutes for you to give people spoons, and potentially missed our chance to purchase what we had came for. I explain to the walk up cashier at the time that we had just walked about 2 miles to get here, and that we do not have a car. We then asked if we could just walk through the drive through line so we don't leave empty handed. She looks as us and says āno, sorryā with that tone (you know the tone that I am referring to). Before we got to respond, she closed the window and walked away. I am very disappointed with how we were treated as we felt like the person we dealt with was very short and discourteous. As of now, we have no plans to return.

Thank you for your quick response, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen we first moved to the area (three years ago), I remember driving past Whipty-Do! and wondering why there were always so many cars in line. At first, I thought it must be that their drive-thru was laid out poorly. Then I tried their ice cream!
I totally understand the line. It's some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I am happy now to be a part of that line, because I know at the end is going to be happiness in a cup.
I'm a big fan of the whipty whirls from their secret menu (you can find it on line). My wife loves their Dole Whips (often buys a full pint), and our kids love the ice cream.
The truth about the line is that they are incredibly efficient. They move cars through their drive-thru at Chick-fil-a level efficiency. You'll usually be greated by a cheerful and excited young person who will walk out to your car and take your order (so be ready when you pull in). By the time you reach the window, your order is almost always ready for you.
My one recommendation for you is to turn right when you leave. It's tough to turn left and it backs everyone else up when you can't get out. Turn right, and then use the park or another parking lot to turn around and head...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSigh..:š Lol. Iām frustrated & wanted to leave a review. Tonight I ordered a double cheesecake & butterfinger whipty whirl. Itās like $10 for the large & extra topping, so I was excited to make it my dinner on my last night off work. The first time, the order was wrong. It was a cookies & cream? So I went back & had them fix it. I get home with what they said was the corrected order. Itās just butterfinger, no cheesecake. Look, itās just ice cream right, no big deal. However, this place was usually my top recommendation to friends in the summer time. After this experience we will go elsewhere & I wonāt be paying the $10 for a 1 topping vanilla mixture. Disappointed. I went back the first time & asked nicely too, like āhey, just got the wrong order, it was supposed to be this. All good thanksā. Still got the wrong order, no cheesecake & paid $2 extra. Just. What the heck. We all toke a joint here & there but man, these teens canāt put together an ice cream! Thatās ridiculous. Do better guys. The reputation of this place used to be they got it right every time & came highly recommended. Now Dairy Queen is sadly...
