this review is for the 'pizza' place inside yankee candle/on same property as yankee candle factory store.
we arrived just before 12 pm on a Saturday when there was hardly anyone there yet, which was nice.
we used the bathroom (womens) and the first stall had zero tp. thank goodness I was in there so I could hand my family member some tp.
I told the young adult working at the pizza place she said 'go tell the bartender, that's their responsibility'. (?) The customer service inside yankee candle compared to the restaurant was like night and day. When I told the bartender she looked exhausted and annoyed.
The food was OK. I wish we drove down the street to another pizza shop. It was fresh but boring. The turkey 'gobbler' was just 'blah' I don't know how else to explain it. It was food.
Once the place started getting busy, the 'trash' which was an empty black bucket on top of an actual trash can (?) was loaded. No idea why they don't have regular trash cans, lol.
They also have all the silverware near the pizza shop, only. So, if you sit far away you have to walk across the entire restaurant to get napkins or knives which they don't give you any of when you pick up your food at the window. We had a family of 8 so we had to make several trips to get silverware napkins, etc. What a pain in the butt.
Overall food was OK but they took the service right out of the word...
Read moreI’m so happy that I chose hillside/powder hollow to host my rehearsal dinner. I had a lot of out-of-town guests and extended family, and being able to host all 50 people and allow them to mingle was very important to me. Throughout the wedding I wanted to showcase the amazing local food in western mass, but I also didn’t want to spend as much on my rehearsal dinner as the actual wedding. And, I’m a pizza fanatic so incorporating pizza somewhere in the wedding just made sense.
Hillside was easily able to accommodate the whole group, including two people with celiacs (powder hollow serves gluten-free cider!), and some people with more complicated food restrictions. They allowed me to finalize the guest count hours before the dinner, so I could adapt to people whose plans changed. Kids from my and my fiancé’s families bonded while watching SpongeBob and coloring at the designated kids table. The courtyard outside was perfect for group photos.
I received so many compliments on the pizza and beer, which were nicely balanced by the massive salad hillside also provided. Overall, it ended up being the perfect low-key way to let our families meet and to welcome them to...
Read moreDO NOT COME IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO DAIRY OR ARE VEGAN!!!
Stopped in yesterday while on the road back home from NH. Asked for personal pie with pepperoni and VEGAN CHEESE!! Stated that I have DAIRY ALLERGY!! Was assured that it was vegan cheese and that the crust is vegan as well. Get the pizza, trust that it’s vegan but about an hour or so after eating it I start to have hives to my face with an itchy throat and we’re 3.5hrs from home. For those who will ask “well don’t you know what cheese tastes like? You should’ve stopped eating it after the first bites” The answer is no I don’t know what it tastes like I’ve been allergic dairy my whole life and learn that I was when I was transitioned to formula feeds that are made up of milk proteins.
All this to say either the wrong cheese was placed on my pizza or when I asked about the dough containing dairy the staff was not properly educated on what dairy products are.
Last night was the first time in my life I considered using my EpiPen and going to the ER.
If I could leave zero...
