I come here on a daily basis Monday thru Friday and many times pay it forward if I notice a student behind me. So finally I decided to get the mobile app considering how much I spend. It clearly said 4$ off 4$ or more, I was at 5$, my lowest order amount in weeks. Wouldn't work?? No one could answer why but I was told to order more (why get more of what I don't want?? that defeats the coupon). Ended up pulling away because I was told no one could help me, a manager didn't even come. So the frappe was probably just wasted. I called to speak to a manager who told me I would have to call the app they have nothing to do with it. It's disheartening when I'm a regular drive thru person, they see me EVERY DAY I have never complained even when hasbrowns are forgotten. To take my money is all smiles daily but for me to question 1 time EVER and to be made to feel like I did when I spend a MINIMUM $40 a week at this location is not good business. It's not the point of $4 it's the point of how it was handled. If you have the app linked to your store then teach the workers how to speak, the guy could care less about what I was saying was just told he was putting the order through and to pull around, thought it was being fixed but nothing and no other suggestion except to buy more?! I know it's busy in the morning but today was not bad at the time I was there. Even the manager when I called shortly after seemed to not really want to hear what I said. It was the delivery from everyone that made me write this review. Loyal regular customer doesn't seem to matter to this McDonald's. I guess the volume of people that come through is more important than a single person who is just another number. It made me realize it's time to find a local place that perhaps I may pay a little more but I believe I will be appreciated as a daily loyal customer. Willing to give up my daily frappes and breakfasts and evening quick dinners for myself and kids for that sense of appreciation. Perhaps more people need to do this and support the local businesses over big franchises who dont really care.
not sure if this goes for McDonald's in general but this is the location 1840 Dekalb Ave Sycamore...
Read moreThis has to be one of the WORST McDonalds in a 100 mile radius of me. Orders are constantly wrong....seriously 15 orders wrong in about 1 1/2 yr time frame. Plus they park you and forget you. They DONT LISTEN !!! and they are slow and they dont know how to work in fast food industry PERIOD!!!!
The worker have nothing to useas guideline because MOST of their Managers are the problem. They either sit there and let you tell them problem and you can see glazed look on their faces as they wont do a thing to improve or fix the problem. And when they do talk to you about problems, they talk down to customers. And in fact one of the was even rude enough to mumble something under his breath as he walked away with co worker and didnt think I heard it. Lucky I didnt grab him and smack him in face with my food. There are about 5-6 real good workers their and the rest must be family and friends cause they cant get order right.
Corporate NEEDS fire 3 of them at this location and I think the other two might straighten up the ship then.
Its worth it to drive the extra 3-5 miles to another location....trust me on this one. If you go here now and then you wont notice it...but if you frequent the place you'll see very quickly what im talking about

Read moreService was very slow, 7 people standing around for 15 minutes waiting for their orders. But, the food was good and my custom order was accurate. Also one of the few establishments that still have an indoor play place, so, my son was quite happy.
UPDATE: 4 out of 5 visits, there is a loooong wait for food or drink. I'm not sure what's going on at this particular establishment, but it's beyond ridiculous. Yesterday, i brought 2 boys there for happy meals & play place. When the food came out 10 minutes later, i asked where is the coffee i ordered? The girl says oh sorry I'll get it for you. I waited another 20 minutes before i walked back up to the front to complain. Why in the world should it take almost a half hour to make a darn coffee??
I had to update my review to only 2 stars because the service and wait time is far below standard at this particular location. The only great thing about it is that it's one of the few McDonald's that actually still have an indoor play place, and the kids love that. So, i just deal with the bad service. If there was no play place, this location would go out of business, for sure.
Also, if you don't have kids and can do without the play place, go to the Tom & Jerrys next door where you can get real burger baskets for...
