Things went from bad to worse. Walked up to order food at about 5:00 on a Monday evening. Was the only person in line and no cashier to be seen. Two Cooks we're standing there talking and they noticed me standing there so they went to get somebody but nobody came. They went back again to get somebody who finally came out and took my order. We waited an absurd amount of time for portillo's. They have always been such a quick place but we waited a long time for our food. It was a small order and the order came out and was sitting on the counter but nobody called my number so I thought maybe they were still getting the order ready or it was for somebody else. After several minutes the same lady who had put the order there walked up and read the tag and called my number. The fries were cool on the outside and cold in the middle, not cooked. I brought them back to the lady at the counter and told her they weren't cooked and she took them and threw them away and then just turned around. She looked like she was making fries and she was filling fry orders to give to the drive-thru but never offered me new fries so I went and sat down for a couple minutes to eat some of my sandwich came back to the counter still no fries and then eventually a guy came over and gave me an order of fries. Those were cooked. My beef sandwich is less than the size of my hand. I'm a 5'6 woman so I just have normal sized female hands but my beef sandwich was only long enough to get to about my middle finger from the edge of my palm and there was only meat in the middle part of the sandwich both ends were just bread. Based on our visit today I have no reason to ever return to portillo's because we definitely did not get any value...
Read moreI very seldom write reviews, especially negative ones, but this location has severely gone down hill.
The past few months I have had several consecutive orders that have been missing large items, poor quality and/or poor packaging.
The order I received tonight displayed poor quality, poor service and unprofessionalism.
To start, the wait was extremely long. Typical for Portillo's during busy hours but usually followed by fresh, quality food. This order was far from either of those.
I placed a simple order, double cheeseburger with ketchup mustard and mayonnaise.
When I arrived to the cashier window the attendant read back my order as ketchup, mustard and lettuce. I let the attendant know I ordered mayonnaise, not lettuce. She acknowledged and proceeded to take my payment.
Moving to the next window upon receipt of my food the attendant read my order to have lettuce, not mayonnaise. I again stated mayonnaise, not lettuce. The attendant took the food back and returned within a few moments stating that she had corrected the order and proceeded to hand me my food.
When I arrive home, I open the burger box and remove the top bun to find an unreasonable amount of mayonnaise topping the patty along with lettuce. It is obvious that this was intentionally done.
I decided to return back to the restaurant to return the food. The manager was professional and gave me a refund.
I am beyond over this location. There is no reason to wait as long as they take, pay the prices they charge, to receive such poor quality, disrespect and...

Portillo’s is usually one of my go-to spots, and they rarely let me down. This time, I ordered a chopped salad without noodles, extra cheese, and a cheese dog on the side. While the salad was absolutely amazing as always, the cheese dog was a disappointment.
Chopped Salad: Always a Winner
Portillo’s chopped salad is one of the best out there, and getting it without noodles with extra cheese made it even better. The ingredients are always fresh, the flavors come together perfectly, and the portion size is huge for the price—just $10 or $11, which is a fantastic deal. Every time I order this, it’s consistently delicious and satisfying.
Cheese Dog: A Letdown
Unfortunately, the cheese dog was not up to Portillo’s usual standard. The biggest issue? The cheese wasn’t melting at all, which is a clear sign that the hot dog wasn’t hot enough. In fact, it was kind of cold, which makes me think it sat in the warmer too long or wasn’t freshly prepared. I was expecting that classic, melty, gooey cheese experience, but instead, it just looked and tasted off. Definitely not what I was hoping for.
Overall Thoughts
Even though the chopped salad was incredible as always, the cheese dog was a letdown. Portillo’s is usually super reliable, so I’ll chalk this up to a rare mistake. I’ll definitely be back because their food is consistently great, but I might double-check my order next time to make sure everything is...
