Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Delavan

I come to this Chili’s often and have never received service like I did last night.

To the blonde waiter with the bun who thought I was going to dine-and-dash, I have a few tips of customer service for you:)

For starters, when you greet a table, usually you want to crack a smile or show you have any sort of personality. Especially since you’re making $2.25 and my tip is your only hope of making well above minimum wage on a Wednesday night at Chilis in Delavan, WI without Chilis covering the difference to get you there:-) Also, you did not bring our food to our table (you were clearly busy which is obviously fine) but you didn’t even bother to check to see if we needed anything after we received it.

Actually, it wasn’t until my friend and I had got up and went to the bathroom that you decided you noticed us. When I returned, you were so kind to come right over and bring my I.D. that I had purposely left on the table so you knew we had only went to the bathroom and would be right back (or because of the fact to get to the bathrooms from the bar area you have to walk past the bar, the hostess stand as well as the entire kitchen so I don’t see how you could have not seen us.) In the grand total of 3 minutes we were not at the table, you had apparently convinced yourself that we had dined-and-dashed….LOL.

After giving me my I.D., you asked if we were ready to pay and as I went to grab the tablet myself (considering I had my card in my hand, ready to pay) you took it upon yourself to grab the tablet and open it up to the pay bill screen as if I had no idea it wasn’t going to actually pay without you standing there.

I’m not sure where you received the training to become a Chili’s waiter, but I can tell you that showing friendlier service to your tables (even when you’re busy) can really go a long way. I’ve never had a server be so condescending for no reason other than the fact that he was busy and maybe didn’t want us seated in his section at the time? Not my problem. I was a server for many years and this is the one time I really felt like my server did not deserve his tip. (obviously still tipped because I am not a dirt bag or the type of girl to DINE-AND-DASH LOL

Sorry, I don’t leave google reviews eve, but this guys atttitude was trash at best. Thanks for your time, Chilis and potential Chilis...

Our food was amazing and our waiter was very attentive! However the hostess was extremely creepy and just not a nice guy. He greeted us as normal and was ok for most of our time there. We got there around 8 and stayed till around 9. Around 8:50 he started to yell at our waiter loud enough for the majority of the restaurant to hear. He was very aggressive talking about how “normal people” just eat and leave, not stay. Additionally we all heard him say “thank god they are gone” as we were walking out the door. Mind you that Chili’s does not close till 10 and we were there less than an hour. There were also at least 3 other families still eating and it does not end there. After we felt that it was necessary to leave the restruant we sat in my friend’s car because we were not done talking. He then had the audacity to come up to our car while we’re checking her oil and asked us what we’re doing. We all told him multiple times that we were ok, we didn’t need his help, and even that our friends dad was coming in and he did not have to help us. He did not listen to a single word any of us said and in fact nudged my friend out of the way to attempt to “help” with the car. It was not customer service it was aggressive, rude, and creepy! Especially with group of 4 girls all younger then...

We were seated in an area that was basically no man's land; no server was assigned to our table. Aftee 15 minutes of being walked by and walked around with NO eye contact from anyone, we finally went back to hostess station. They had the audacity to state we moved seats, when in fact we did not. My friend and I ordered identical salads with an order to go for her mom. Her mom's salad came out before our meal, which it shouldn't have. The order was completely incorrect and did not resemble anything on the menu. When our salads were brought out, they looked mediocre at best. My salad was missing the tortilla strips and had one tiny slice of avocado and was very much old iceberg lettuce and quite watery. My friend's salad had tortilla strips and NO avocado. We got excuses for the entire ordeal and no compensation for any of it. Just free chips and salsa due to the wait and incorrect seating. When we got the to go salad to my friend's mom, it was missing the salad dressing that we were told was in the cup inside salad container. It was bad all the way around.

I understand being short staffed, but that should not impact the quality of food and the inconsistencies noted...
