Yo Shi — Restaurant in Delavan

I've eaten at this place on and off for about 10 years now. The owner Ryan is truly a gem. Their food used to be SO much better. The last time I ordered take out will sadly be my last. The quality just keeps going downhill and even with them being one of the few sushi places in Walworth County, I can't justify spending any more money here.

The rolls are now slightly bigger than my thumb nail. The miso soup is extremely inconsistent ranging between being basically water and then being an inedible level of salty. The seaweed salad is overpriced for an amount smaller than the palm of your hand. The spicy tuna and salmon is more stale crunch than it is fish. And the fish itself is either old or poorly kept as it smells and tastes off. Every single time I've gotten the chicken teriyaki or beef teriyaki the meat is overcooked and dry.

It truly feels like there is no integrity in the cooking anymore. Again, the owner is such a nice guy but your money is better...

Three of us went out to dinner tonight. We ordered two cooked rolls and other menus items. The rolls were very fishy tasting and gooey in the middle. We informed our waitress who apologized and sent over the owner/chef. He stated that he has made millions of these rolls and it was just us. We asked for a refund and he started telling at the waitress in front of us. He refused to refund the roll and tried the roll itself, making no comment, stating again that he makes millions of these. When we said that we didnt want to argue, he continued. We stated that we would pay and not return, then he said fine he would refund. We just paid for all the food and left. I went there a few months ago & the sushi tasted like rubber, it wasn't good. The host seated us at a dirty table, and I was constantly getting nudged in the back by a guy seated directly in the booth behind me. The overall service was honestly terrible. Our waiter took forever with the simplest things, just getting water was a challenge. He also couldn't speak any English, and not once did the waiter come and check on us about the food or to refill our drinks.

I also rember the host was chasing down a customer because she thought he didn't pay, (but he did) & she was literally running back & fourth with a ticket in her hand. Never going back...
