IHOP — Restaurant in Delaware

I normally like most IHOPs for a quick, inexpensive meal out with the kids. I've given this location (Kirkwood Hwy) 3 tries now, on different days of the week and at different times, and been really disappointed each time.

Service has been slow. Even though the servers have had enough time to chat and play on their phones, apparently actually serving tables hasn't been all that much of a concern. One time, it took 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were sitting there!!!

The cleanliness is seriously lacking. I've watched busboys take, at best, a cursory swipe at a table with a dirty rag. I also had to request 2 new glasses because they had lipstick on them.

Each and every time, at LEAST 3 out of our 5 orders were incorrect. And when I say incorrect, I don't mean bacon instead of sausage, I mean chicken instead of steak. One entire entree was wrong! Huge mistakes! And each time, after speaking to the manager, other than bringing the correct order, nothing was done. No comps, no discounts, no coupons, not even an apology! All we received were excuses.

I’m from Va here In Newark De for work I have been to this location 4 times and each time the quality and service was worse than before. My last time I ordered a Breakfast sampler with all bacon price was $19.26 I thought that was a bit high but whatever, the lady was nice I tipped her $5.00 so my total is now $24.26. I got back to warehouse which about 5 miles away to find out I have been given turkey bacon. I went back to the ihop and stated my problem and I was charged for turkey bacon as well. The lady was nice and let me know that it would be put back on my card and she will be back with my food. I received my food not fresh just change the bacon out and now the rest of the food is cold and as for the bag with condiments has 1 syrup and two butter spreads. In VA if there was any problem the whole meal would have been refreshed at least for my troubles to even having to come back. Needless to say I’m done with going there. Good luck to...

The food was the best thing about our experience. We were waiting so long to be seated, I was pulling my cellphone out of my purse, getting ready to call the restaurant to make sure someone was actually working since we didn't see any employees in the restaurant for at least 10 minutes. It took awhile til our server came over to get our drink order and even longer to get our drinks, all sodas. Our food took a very long time to come out as well. We spent more time in this restaurant than we did at the funeral we in Delaware for this day. I soon discovered why. While we were waiting for our food. My son's employer called me, so I was polite enough to take the phone call outside. I went to the side of the building and found the employees all standing around outside doing nothing with customer inside. SMH.
