JJ Fish & Chicken Grill — Restaurant in Dellwood

We were next door getting my son's hair cut and we needed to think about food. This place was right next door and I hadn't been to a JJ over 5 year since I moved from California.

Husband went over and ordered honey BBQ chicken tenders for me, which were not on the menu, but they made it anyway. We also ordered a chicken phili, and another plate of regular chicken tenders for my son. Of course they all came in a nice large plate with a side of delicious fries. I added the fried okra as well to my order since its been a while and I'm breastfeeding and wanted veggies.

My custom chicken tenders were perfect and hit the spot. They were crispy and covered with the right amount of sauce which I used to dip my fries in. The okra was the same as I remembered from back home which makes being a transplant so much easier when we find pieces of our old home in the new place.

My son loved his chicken tenders and fries, he said it's the best thus far in the area.

Hubby devoured his chicken phili but said it was missing onions and peppers which are usually standard on a phili. Note...ask for onions and peppers when you order this. Otherwise he like the portions and flavor.

That was the food part. Now, let's talk about service. My husband placed the order and paid for it but I had to go pick it up since he was with the little one. I went in and told them I was picking up my husband's order and they knew what I was talking about and made sure I had everything we needed. I handed him a card to pay because I wasn't sure if we paid or not. There was a guy behind me that said, yeah she paid her husband when he was in here I saw it. That felt nice. The cashier remembered my husband paying but checked just incase. I would have felt bad leaving without making sure we paid for our food.

Anyway, next time we're out that way, we will be back getting our order again. This place is another piece of home for me so I'll visit when I'm in the area again.

Purchased the Family Combo and it was absolutely horrible. The food was fried in used, old, dirty oil. The french fries were soggy and fried in that same old fish oil. The chicken wings and fillets were also cooked in that oil. The chicken wings were greasy and not thoroughly cooked and the jack fillets (which looked like strips instead of fillets) were overcooked, hard and dark. I've had okay food from this restaurant in the past, but never again will I purchased food from there again. It was a waste of $40, as we could not even...

Don't come to this location anymore my food use to be on point until I receive a bad plate taste old and string beans tasted spoil .
