Bordeaux — Restaurant in Delta Charter Township

My husband and I had a 6:45 dinner reservation on Saturday, 2/13. When we arrived our table was not ready so we sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The bartender, Katherine I believe is her name, made it clear that she was extremely busy by telling us when we asked her for another drink (it'll be just a bit, I've got to get ...... basically other stuff done). That's fine, we get it, it's a busy night. But then in front of us she kept talking down to other servers as if they were annoying her. I didn't need to see this attitude on our night out. At 7:15 we asked if our table was ready yet and were finally seated around 7:20. We were given 1 menu and told we'd have another in just a moment. 5 minutes later we had to flag someone down for another menu (we had not had a server yet). We received the menu and started to look through it. 10 minutes later, still no server. We finally asked a manager if there was someone available to help us and she herself took our order. We had to flag down another person to ask for drink refills. Upon that happening the manager told a server to start helping us (mind you this is about 30 minutes into our table seating). Our appetizer and salads were finished and we asked our server if we could also have some bread. Then our meals came out and we finished up the dinner, paid and left. Every single time we needed something we had to get someone's attention; this is not an exaggeration. At one point we though, are we on candid camera? Wanted to try something different tonight, so I made reservations for 7:30. Got there and hostess said oh somebody else just came in with reservations at 7:30, I think we just gave your table away. So she went back and checked, and seated us 5 minutes later. Which seemed odd thet she would greet us like that. Then after 15 minutes a waiter finally came over and said he'll check to see who's taking care of us, then came back a couple minutes later and said oh I guess it's me. So he he took our drink and food order, and we didn't get our drinks until 10 after 8! Then 15 minutes later comes our appetizer and we asked for more bread to finish the dip and that took another 15 minutes to get there, by the time it was brought out, the dip was already cold. Then we got our meal and it was mediocre at best. The menu said filet and the waiter said it was filet mignon. It was a very low grade filet mignon, if it even was. It was tough and fatty. Not tender and juicy like normal filet mignon. Then we got our final bite which was a piece of fudge on a miniature spoon. Couldn't even finish it as it wasn't tasty. We didn't get our bill until 9:30 if that says anything about how slow the service was. And the food was mediocre food at fine dining prices. Spent over a hundred dollars and was not satisfied. I eat here every couple of months when I'm on a work trip. Tonight, I didn't get in until 930; the restaurant closes at 10:00. When I got to a table and the waitress finally came over, it was 9:48. When I asked about getting food, she told me they stop making food at 9:45. I don't really understand this if the restaurant doesn't really close until 10:00. She proceeded to tell me I could have chips and dip, chicken strips, or soup. I was hoping to just have a salad, and when I asked, she sounded pretty heavily, walked to the back, I'm with the door still open, shouted oh my God like my order was just too much to ask for when she returned, she said I could order a salad, so I opted to place a takeout order and waited for my food. Every time I've eaten breakfast here, the servers and service have been top-notch. I don't know if she was having a bad night or my 3 minutes past 9:45 was just too much for her to want to deal with, but I was less than impressed with the service I got tonight. I added an order of chips and dip, and they were both of sizable proportions... definitely a shareable size and deliciously worth it!

Edit 4-15-25 I received an email from the Director of Food and Management the next morning. He apologized and invited me back to try again. I appreciated his offer and had dinner tonight; it was delightful...and so was...
