This is a hometown burger joint. They claimed decades of experience providing quality meat and food. I arrived and it was busy but didn’t appear (from parking) like it could be overwhelmed. I ordered within 5 minutes of entering the restaurant and standing in line. They did not indicate how long the wait was estimated at. I did notice people lining the walls waiting for food (as all seating was taken). It didn’t seem too out of the ordinary. But then I waited. And waited. And waited. My number was 98, and they called 65 or so after I ordered.
I waited for 1 hour, standing in various places, because wherever you stood, you were in the way, either of the condiment and utensils bar, or of the drink machine, or the one entrance/exit from the restaurant portion to the store portion (both had seating). There was no good place to wait, unless you grabbed a table. I had ordered to go, so with so little seating available, it seemed selfish to sit down.
Any burger joint that respects itself would know how to get food to customers in less than an hour. It was pathetic. No employee ever addressed the customers after their order, either en masse or one by one, trying to keep people happy. I saw people trying to keep hungry kids happy, not knowing that their food was still 45 minutes away. I did hear a cashier tell one couple that the food was about an hour wait, but it sounded to me like the couple asked. They should’ve asked before paying… I started wondering if I should warn people who walked in.
If I ever come back here, it’ll be to try the peanut butter burger, because my curiosity is piqued. But I’ve had a good one elsewhere, so I’m not sure I’ll try my luck here, now that I’ve experienced the dismal operational mismanagement.
Fries were ok, ranch burger was ok. The overall experience would have been ok to good in the restaurant/store if the wait hadn’t been...
Read moreI was in the area for work and remembered this suggestion. A little hesitant and Unsure of portions or what to expect I stopped off here to check it out and I was really hungry. I ordered the ultimate double cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese, large cajun fries (requested extra crispy)and a strawberry milkshake. This was A LOT of food. I couldn’t finish it all, which is surprising, because I can eat. Anyways, the food.. Too good! Let’s start with the strawberry milk shake, it was real creamy ice cream.. I was conservative with this order but next time, I will for sure venture out with flavor and mix ins. The burger was seasoned and juicy.. so good.. the fries were also well seasoned however, the only con if you can even call it that was I asked for them to be fried a bit longer, because I wanted extra crispy fries, but I got just regular fries, which were still really good I just prefer crispy fries. The service was outstanding, the cashier was friendly and patient with me. She answered all the questions I had and gave me different suggestions. The next individual who helped me, I requested some sauce was a gentleman, he appeared to be in his late teens but was extremely polite “ yes ma’am, no ma’am, need anything else ma’am” I was just really surprised and appreciated their kindness. I would recommend this place to...
Read moreFood is good for the most part. In my opinion the best food in this small town. HOWEVER, I got served cold food once. Ordered a buddy burger, 5pc chicken nugget, and a corn dog to go on this particular day. To my luck, the corn dog was practically frozen from the center. Which disappointed, took it back to the store, they offered put another one in the oven for me. Would have given it 5 stars easily only because it beats any other place in this small town.
I wasn't mad at the employees when I had to come back to show them the issue with cold food, since we are all humans, we inherently will make mistakes I understand that, and thus this was my first time I got served cold food at ashton's, no big deal. However I would have kept the 5 stars, had they offered better compensation for their mistake, and for my inconvenience, since restaurants are known to typically offer the customer something extra in return for their mistake, instead of offering to remake the same item to compensate for the loss of time and inconvenience for the customer. But agian it was only one instance, I was never going to ask for anything else either, or wanted for that matter. Just a basic principle other restaurants usually follow. No big issue, I have enjoyed all my past visits here, and plan on coming back...
