Jeremiah's Italian Ice — Restaurant in Deltona

My son found this place. I didn't think I would like ice cream mixed with flavored ice but it's not like the regular Italian ice your used to, it's creamier and many more flavors that you wouldn't think they would have. By itself or combined with the ice cream it is so good (depends on flavor I get whether I combine them). I was very surprised. The staff is patient, helpful and polite. Not used to getting such good service from younger person's. Person's that treat you like a person and respectful. This is truely refreshing to see in a new generation. I hope they hold on to this throughout life. An added bonus as well is they also have an app for savings and compiling points from purchases towards more savings later as well as weekly specials. This place is a small gem in a decent spot to stop by quick yourself or go with the kids or family. I was greatful for my son finding this. I hate to give this rating, but had a negative experience with this location tonight. I have been going to Jeremiah's since they first opened in Winter Park. Typically, we order our gelati in 1 cup size larger than the size we want. Reason being that they fill the cups over the top of the cup and it will melt and leak down to your hands. This is especially important if taking these to go. They melt in the cup lid and when you open they, another mess happens. This evening we were told that we were not able to order this way and pointed to a sign that they are having packaging shortages. I then asked if they were out of medium cups but they weren't. So it made no sense if you have the cup size in stock why you can't use it instead of the other size. As further concern, not sure if this issue is localized to this store only, or all locations. I never leave a bad review on any place I go but let me start by saying how uncomfortable I felt coming to this place tonight especially how management (Alicea) took care of the situation completely unprofessional looking straight into my eyes with a serious face and had not professionalism in how she was acting towards me after I explained my situation with one of the other employees. Me and wife have been coming to this location for 2 year once a week and now we no longer will. They need to be more careful how they handle customer service because you never know who's who these days.
