On the outside, this is the perfect addition to Denison's ever-growing Main Street. And on the inside, this beautiful, quaint cafe has a lot of potential. It reminds me of a spot on McKinney's eclectic town square. However, I just don't think Denison is ready for the inflated prices on Cafe Blackbird's menu. And maybe I'm wrong... as the line was almost out the door when we arrived.

My half sandwich/cup of soup and small half slice of orange was not worth the $9.50. The bread was a nice artisan bread (which I'd return to buy a loaf of for morning toast), but the chicken salad and tomato basil soup were just okay. I didn't get to eat the orange as my plate was whisked away while I was pretty much finishing up. I felt rushed and not very welcome the entire time. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, though; this could be because they've been busy with their grand opening and staff training.

Also, the cookie I ordered was forgotten when my food was delivered to the table, and when I went to inquire about it, I was told they were baking more and that it would be about 12 minutes until they were ready. At $3.75 a piece, you know I was waiting for this cookie. Fast forward about 30 minutes and (feeling like a complete B) I had to ask again.

Not sure when/if I'll return. Employees (and most patrons) weren't wearing masks and six-feet distances were not being enforced. The visit as a whole just didn't feel comfortable. I wish them well, though. Denison needs growth, especially on Main, and businesses such as this will...

I had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Blackbird today, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Located in the heart of downtown Denison, there is ample street parking, making it easily accessible.

Upon entering, I was immediately charmed by the lovely little guest book nestled among shelves of merchandise. What a unique touch! They even have a special offer where you receive a free coffee with the purchase of a new book.

The atmosphere at Cafe Blackbird is warm and inviting, and the interactions with the staff were nothing short of friendly. Ordering was a breeze at the counter, and they provide a number for your table, ensuring that your food is delivered promptly.

Now, let's talk about the food. We ordered The Hippie sandwich and a half strawberry salad, as well as a half toasted turkey sandwich with a cup of the soup of the day. The portions were more than generous for a quick lunch, and every bite tasted wonderfully fresh. The combination of flavors in each dish was a real treat for the taste buds.

Cafe Blackbird has left us eager to return and explore more of their menu options, and I've heard their desserts are not to be missed. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to this charming establishment. You won't be...

We went to Blackbird Cafe in Denison for lunch. It’s a very calm, relaxing, laidback, comfortable, very friendly, restaurant. We can dine in or take your orders to go. From Salads to sandwiches, cookies to cales, and pies- it’s all amazing and worth every bite!! Sodas, water, or a delicious latte, mocha, or warm hot cocoa is waiting for you too! We had the The Greek Sandwich, priced right at $ 11.95 Delicious crispy artisan bread, with thinly sliced ham, provolone, garlie & chive mayo. Then with tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, red onion, & pepperoncinis. There’s also a side of Greck dressing for dipping! With the Chive mayo and greek dressing, OH, it’s delicious!!!! and also the: Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese (same great price): Delicious crispy artisan bread, slices of pepper jack & cheddar, crisp bacon, with cream cheese and roasted jalapenos. It tastes exactly like you put a jalapeño popper on a grilled cheese~ I could eat this for every meal!! So amazing!! Along with a Hot, Creamy, delicious flavor, Hot Cocoa. Over all, it’s an amazing place and if it was closer to Plano, I’d be there 1-2 times a week! We do need to make a trip back, we were too full to try the desserts! They looked amazing- next time I’m...

I absolutely love Café Blackbird. Their garden salad with Greek dressing, the Hippie veggie sandwich, and the Greek sandwich are among my favorite things to order. The portions are large, prices are very reasonable, and everything is fresh and delicious. The desserts are another major highlight - BEST cookies ever!! I always just get my orders to-go, but need to hang out in there and dine in one day. Employees are always friendly, and I can’t recommend this place enough.
