I wish I'd gotten pics, but I was starving. I got the breakfast plate with two eggs over easy, potato, homemade bread toast, and avocado in place of breakfast meet. It's been a minute since I've treated myself, so I also went with the fresh berry waffle, and finished with a mixed berry seltzer.
Everything was amazing, but let's start off with the easy stuff that so many places get wrong. They give real maple syrup. Sounds simple enough but many places don't. Next, the blueberries on the waffle were so fresh and so tasty. So much so that I'm wondering if they are using organic because I haven't tasted berries this good in a while. Next the avocado. Perfectly ripe and soooo tasty.
I knew I was off to a really good start. What can you say about over-easy eggs, a waffle, and some breakfast potatoes? Well, I'll tell ya.... I have no idea what magic they put in to all three, but wow. Not crazy different from the run-of-the-mill items, but each thing had a subtle... something.... that really knocked them out of the park.
The berry seltzer: whatever they do to that it's GOT to be homemade. Almost like macerated berries or something. So good. It was fairly sweet which I wasn't expecting as it was seltzer, but I can forgive them because of whatever elixir they conjured up to put in it.
Two odd things. I didn't see any salt or pepper on the tables. They might have had at the coffee station but I didn't feel like getting up. To be fair, I can't see any right-minded person needing either as everything was perfectly seasoned. Two, there was no butter on either the toast or the waffle. Not a biggie and I'm sure I could have asked for it. Just unusual that it wasn't there. I felt the prices were really good and the ingredients were top-notch, and cooked to perfection, so perhaps it's a reasonable way to not waste it on people who don't need it. And...
Read moreI have been to this location a few times and i always order that steak breakfast skillet. I like my steaks well done. Whoever use to cook the steaks did a great job because my steaks would be well done, juicy, and still tender. I went there last week on a Friday and a young lady sounded as if she was discouraging me from ordering because in her words, "the kitchen is backed up" and it will be a wait to get my order. I placed my order and waited. I got home with my meal and when i opened the box container and cut into my steak, my steak said MOOO! My steak was really red/pink on the inside. I called LI to inform them that the temperature of my steak was incorrect. Of course i got the answering machine so i left a message. I called again...someone answered! GREAT! "Anthony" was polite and offered to remake my dish on them my next visit. Ok, so i returned 5 days later, explained to the young lady at the window who seemed confused and had to "consult" with staff..which had me thinking if "Anthony" gave me an authentic name...which i asked her. She chuckled and said, "yes, he's one of the chefs." I tops her to plz tell him thank you! So fast forward...when i looked at this steak, it was really dry! No juice at all! I had a hard time cutting into it. It was super rough, tough, and rubbery. The potatoes were a little hard too. I was wowed because normally their potatoes are yummy! I wasn't going to call back and complain. I just threw $18 away! I was referring my people to go there and get the steak but i put a halt to that. People work hard for their money to just receive food...
Read moreAfter a heart attack and 5-way bypass my husband’s cardiologist recommended he go on a Whole Food Plant Based diet…that meant no meat, no eggs, no cheese or other dairy products, and no added sugar/salt/oil, making it very difficult to eat out. Vegan options are about as close as we can get at most restaurants that partially comply with how we eat. (Side note… Since going plant based almost 4 years ago, the efficiency of how his heart pumps blood to the rest of his body went from 35% efficient to 55% efficient.) Imagine our surprise when in a farm to fork restaurant we found things we could actually have!!! Their Maple Apple Oatmeal is off the charts delicious. It is so flavorful and healthy. I didn’t get her name, but the lady at the counter (perhaps one of the owners?) was so understanding and gracious and let me order according to my specific dietary needs. So, I had Avocado Toast on their Amazing Homemade Rosemary Bread, some potatoes cooked in only a slight bit of oil, a side of perfectly ripened mixed fruits (apple, blueberries, strawberries, & kiwi) and a Hot Latte made with Soy Milk!!! Before leaving I discovered they had Vegan Oatmeal Protein Cookies with all Whole Food ingredients so I got a bunch to take home with us!!! We live in McKinney, but we will definitely come here again when we find ourselves in the area!!! Praying y’all open another location closer to McKinney!!! Sadly, I didn’t think to take pictures of our food, but the presentation was impressive and just as good as the the quality and taste of our food. We highly recommend this Gem of a...
