The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the onion rings were great... french fries are great and the wait staff was great and attentive. As far as the garlic, onion, chicken broccoli alfredo pizza that we (my wife and I) ordered... the alfredo sauce was very light for a pizza of this type that uses it as the actual sauce. I also ordered bruschetta. Well, bruschetta is supposed to be with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar to compliment the acidity of the tomato and also give it some bite. There wasn't any balsamic vinegar or any olive oil, either. I can honestly say the tomatoes were fresh cut... yes... they had cheese... yes... they had some spices and seasonings...but bruschetta does not come in any way shape or form in humongous chunks of tomato. Bruschetta sized tomato chunks are supposed to be more or less a smaller diced size. What we got was a tomato chunk size like you would get if you were putting large, rough cut tomato chunks in your pasta sauce. In all honesty, the bread, below the supposed bruschetta, is what was the highlight of that particular dish. The wait staff are the ONLY thing keeping this restaurant open because they are very attentive and very on top of things. I wish that the rest of the restaurant got an update, was cleaned up, scrubbed down, repainted, and a brighter light bulb in the bathroom.(The bathroom light switch is on the outside of the bathroom door and the light inside the bathroom is about as bright as a child's night-light). Other than what I have commented, make your own decision. If you're reading this and you are the wait staff at this restaurant I give you many many kudos, much respect, and I applaud you because I believe that you are the only thing drawing repeat customers. The restaurant seems to be stuck in the 90s and the average tasting food sure doesn't give me a palatable need to come back. But, that's my taste buds and just my two cents opinion. Please feel free to visit at least once and make your...
Read moreMy family and I just left the restaurant. First, let me just say that the waitress was pleasant and we were seated almost immediately when we walked in the door (approximately 6:45pm).
After that, though, it was a bit of a wait for everything. We ordered garlic knots and mozzarella sticks for an appetizer which was received about 25 minutes after the order was placed. The apps were good but nothing to rave about. The sauce, though, was excellent.
We then waited for another 45+ minutes for the main dishes to come out (linguine with crab meat - 2 orders, a buffalo chicken steak, grilled cheese, and cheese ravioli).
During the wait, however, the waitress offered colored pencils and paper to our 3 year old which was hugely appreciated and a phenomenal addition to the service she provided.
The dinners were served, and surprisingly, the grilled cheese was even more delayed and took an additional 2-3 minutes to come out. The pasta was overcooked and sticking together, the crab meat tasted canned (maybe it wasn't). And, while one of the pasta dishes had too much sauce, the other had barely any sauce.
The chicken steak was good and the cheese ravioli was ok but didn't come with garlic bread as mentioned on the menu...it came with bread served with a garlic butter... definitely wasn't garlic bread. The bread was also placed on the table for everyone and not as a side to the ravioli dish.
And, because of the extraordinary wait, our 3 year old was getting a little rambunctious/tired - we had asked for the check which took another 7 (ish) minutes to deliver.
I feel that it's important to not that the restaurant was busy but had several empty tables and no parties larger than 5 (we were the largest party in the dining room).
Expect extremely friendly staff but definitely don't go in for a quick meal which may have been...
Read moreOn April 28, 2021, my wife ordered food from this pizza restaurant, My wife ordered a whole Italian Hoagie, mayo no onions. She was charged $19.00 for this alleged hoagie only to get it home and discover there was nothing on it but a few slices of lunch meat and some cheese and a little oregano. We have the receipt. No lettuce or tomato. We called and the girl said lettuce and tomato is extra. Your menu states all hoagies come with lettuce tomato and onions. We took a photo of the $19.00 sandwich which we are going to post on the Facebook pages of Pine Haven and Ocean View Campground. Buyer beware. The girl never offered us a chance to return to correct the sandwich just told us the cost would be extra. On top of all this they charged $19.00 for three pieces of Capacolla, three pieces of Salami and three pieces of cheese. What a disgrace. I notice the owner or whoever reads these reviews, thinks he/ she is comedian. I have a suggestion, you say your longevity speaks for itself, well I guess people who patronize your restaurant do not know what good food is. You have only been there as long as you have because there has not been any competition, but look out there are a couple new places that make your food exactly what it is...EXPENSIVE GARBAGE. For great food and service drive the extra two minutes to Vita Bella can't eat in but you wont be...
