Read moreThis restaurant is a train wreck, and this train flew off the the tracks and down the embankment for several reasons: 1)My wife and I ordered two sushi and two sashimi lunch meals (we were big time hungry) for 9 dollars (sushi) and 10 (sashimi). Each of our orders should have been 19 dollars (9 + 10). The waitress- who I believe is the owner - took our menus, walked a step, stopped, looked back at us, and declared, “The sushi and sashimi are now both 13 dollars, and the menu is wrong.” Needless to say, we couldn’t believe she had just randomly increased the price by more than 33 percent. She had arbitrary increased the total cost for our lunch meals from 38 dollars (10+9+10+9) to 52 dollars (13 x 4). Holy Moly! 2) the size of the each sushi and sashimi are laughably small (about half of the size you would typically find in a good sushi restaurant). 3) The restaurant is dated, drab, and small. Sadly, the owner actually uses one of the few restaurant tables as her own desk, filled with bottles, papers, and other...
Read moreWe eat sushi quite a bit as a family. We know what we like, and we know when it's quality, fresh sushi. The owner recognized that's we were not familiar with her menu, and helped us pick out a few things that were in line with our taste. So how was the food? The tempura was light, not greasy, and fresh. Very authentic taste! We had multiple special rolls, and the Aki was probably the favorite. However, the Dragon was spectacular as well. Every roll was well prepared, not too heavy on rice, and high quality fresh fish. They also seem to lean more on asparagus to enhance their special rolls, which adds texture and flavor. We also had the soba, which was very well prepared. The broth was light and fresh. It did not feel over salted or like it came from a packet! Finally, we only spent so much because we went for more after our "initial round". The value is very good and worth it if you are looking for a reasonable sushi meal with fresh, new takes on rolls, this is a...
