I like Lost Dog Pub! They have a good menu with a very broad selection and the staff were friendly and polite.
My friend said the oysters she had was amazingly fresh and she really enjoyed them, and her husband's salmon was well cooked, though the portion was a little small.
My eggplant parmesan was delicious, though I was a little surprised by the gigantic amount of (pretty bland) pasta it was served with. Our food took a long time to arrive (I understand that this happens sometimes when many places are understaffed) but several tables who arrived after us were served first, which seemed a little odd. Also, the waitress did not bring us any bread but all the other tables around us received bread. My friends I was dining with had their three year old in tow, and she was very hungry by the time her dinner arrived. She wouldn't have made it without a protein bar!
I also wish Lost Dog had more interesting non-alcoholic options on the menu for beverages - a good mocktail or two is sorely needed.
All in all, I like Lost Dog but I feel like the things mentioned are areas they could improve upon...
Read moreComfortable place. Great for a Sunday football day, or after the game. Better atmosphere at bar with TVs and quick bar service. Haven't eaten at the dining area side but TVs not as visible. The food is good. Some dishes better than others. I really love their arugula gorgonzola walnut cranberry salad with blackened Salmon served with either blue cheese or honey balsamic dressing. They provided me both. Portion of salmon excellent, cooked to perfection. However my husband got the seafood combo, portion of fish was nugget size, three shrimp and three scallops with a big portion of fries. Not worth the price. If the fish was actually a portion of fish then it would be good. I urge restaurants to not skimp. Fish nuggets seem like bottom of barrel. I recommend that this restaurant serve an actual portion of fish in the combo, which shouldn't be nugget size. Other local seafood restaurants do this better and less money. Place was busy, makes good business. Clean. Staff are friendly. Local bar open all...
Read moreI’ve been going here for years and never have been disappointed. Until last night. I ordered the “Shepherd’s Pie” from the Specialties Menu. What came had SOME of the ingredients of shepherd’s pie - not all - and that was where the resemblance ended. It was a square mound of lukewarm mashed potatoes dumped on some over-cooked chopped meat, a little bit of onion, and lots of corn, with the whole thing covered with a bland brown sauce. This came served in a soup bowel, not a casserole dish. The meal was not baked as it should be. It was awful. The waitress took it away before I could explain what was wrong with it, claiming it was “one of her favorite things to eat here.” Regarding service, the greeter didn’t smile when she sat us and the waitress disappeared when I was trying to pay. I realize it’s off-season but there are many other pubs in the area for me to choose from and I will take my business there. I will also warn family, friends, neighbors and my...
