This review is from my experience here a couple years ago, I never got the chance to share my thoughts but here we go. I have a food allergy to tomatoes so eating pizza can be really tough, but when you find a white pizza, thats a game changer! But, shout out to Paradise Pizza in W. Dennis for not ONLY confirming they received my food allergy notice & said it would be no problem to then calling 40 minutes later saying they don't feel comfortable making the pizza, that I ALREADY PAID FOR to then the owner apologizing saying he would personally make it...cool.THEN I get home and double check where it was cut and in fact WAS NOT cut with a clean knife. Called to ask if was cut with a clean knife. Well no, the owner made the pizza and did not follow through with the appropriate allergy process. He didn't tell the NEW COOK that it was an allergen warning and to use a clean knife. He then proceeded to rudely yell at his employee when she was trying to rectify the problem, saying he can make me one when they CLOSE because they are busy...oh I'm sorry I just wanted to eat dinner...and trusted YOU THE OWNER TO MAKE MY FOOD.. Mind you, it was a white pizza...garlic, ricotta and cheese. HONESTLY TAKE FOOD ALLERGIES SERIOUSLY! Thank goodness I checked it before I ate it, otherwise I would've been in the hospital with anaphylaxis. I don't know if much has changed here, but I sure do hope so. Individuals with food allergies who go to restaurants are taking a risk and entrusting the staff, cooks and other employees with their LIFE. I didn't appreciate hearing him yell at his employee who infact understands food allergies and was trying to rectify a ridiculous situation that COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. it was almost as if he was more worried about making the other pizza, subs, ect., because those you CAN cross contaminate and not have to stop what your doing to actually ensure someone is safe, which is confusing to me. Wouldn't you WANT to go above and beyond for your customers, especially those who, again, are TRUSTING YOU with their life. If you have food allergies, I really do not recommend this place. Unless they can say with confidence that things have changed and they are going to ensure the seriousness of food allergies are known by all employees -...
Read moreI grew up going to Joey Cardillo when he was at his location at 197 Lower County Rd. where another Joey has a newer restaurant I have also reviewed. At Paradise is the original Joey. He is a legend in the pizza business, starting here in 1976. Joey makes his own amazing recipes of traditional pizza and Italian food. His house specialty is Veal Parmigiana. Other menu items and soft drinks are available. Everything is great. Paradise has a nice island theme, the only thing missing is music from Jimmy Buffett. If you get delivery it can be over 1 hour wait after 7pm but it's worth it.
If you live here or have been visiting for several years, you know about the two restaurants which are about 3 miles down the street from each other. School St. and Lower County Rd. For newer or first time visitors, try both. Experience their different styles of pizza and Italian foods plus other great menu items. Both great...
Read moreMade an online order and cancelled it immediately because the wait was an hour. I had called and spoke to a female who ensured me that my order would be cancelled and that my card would not be charged. Well, it was charged even though I did not receive my order. So, I go to the establishment in person The next day to request a refund for charging my card even though I did not receive my order. The guy Joe, (manager/owner?) barely gave me the time of day brushing me off when trying to explain my issue. Literally, points to paper and tells me to put my phone number on it and when he gets time to go through his online machine he will call me. 100% unacceptable service. It is is now 2 days later and no phone call or refund. I advise to never submit an online order here unless you are 100% sure that you want the order. I was not advised the wait time until I completed my order through an email....
