The Breakfast Room — Restaurant in Dennis

Very disorganized place with staff who are disrespectful, hostile and insulting to clients. Host outside with a notebook in their hands won’t greet you or anything but you will have to find out on your own they are the host. Person inside charging the bills will get mad at you and will not provide clear instructions on how to find the host, when you ask them for a table. After I found out who the host was and was waiting outside for my table, I saw the host yell at a group of clients in front of everyone because they were sitting at the table that was available for them but wasn’t set. He YELLED in front of everyone “I told you that the table would be ready when set”. Come back here and wait with everyone”. The clients were so embarrassed and I was shocked. It was the first time I saw clients being treated like that. Then me and my husband sit and the waiter was extremely overwhelmed and gone before I could ask a question or order something else. Our breakfast took a long time to be served and it was not quality food. On our way back, we went back to the lady charging the bills, and after standing in line for 10 minutes, we expected to be our turn to pay the check, and as we were standing in front of her she said “cash?” (Not even making eye contact with me) and I said “we are doing credit card” and she stares at me with an insulting face and doesn’t say a word. Then I ask “are you doing only cash?” and she doesn’t respond again. Then I say “can you please communicate properly and answer my question?” And she says I’m doing card as well as another staff member took my card… I would give zero stars if I could. Not a bad wait upon arrival. After we were sat, it took a long time for the waiter to even come over to our table and ask us for drinks. The drinks were never refilled I ordered coffee I had to flag the waiter down every time I needed a refill. Grits were instant and not even mixed well. French toast was mediocre. My boyfrend ordered the surf and turf omelet special it had sandwich steak that was not seasoned at all it only filled half his omelet there was no hollandaise sauce to speak of, like the special suggested there was a sprinkle of lobster , if you can call it that, about 1/2 teaspoon of finely chopped and a dash of frozen broccoli on the top of his omelet. the omelet itself was terrible with no flavor whatsoever and did not come with home fries as a special should. Overpriced. When I mentioned the omelet to the waiter he just shrugged it off and said absolutely nothing and came back with a check. Have not eaten here in years. Stopped in today and what a difference from what I remember. Do not waste your money. You can make a better breakfast at home. The woman in the register was a bit harsh, not mean but not friendly by any measure. She also happened to be our waitress. She did not understand when someone with me asked for "eggs over". I had Irish Eggs Benedict. The eggs were soft boiled? but the yokes where not runny at all just a weird solid clear yellow consistency. The home fries were pre-made/pre-seasoned. When I asked for them well done I was informed they were baked and can not really be well done but will try and get them as best they can. The corn-beef hash tasted as though it came out of a can.
