REX'S CONEY ISLAND — Restaurant in Denton Township

I wanna start off that I rarely give 5 stars and in my own opinion I consider 3 stars still a very good rating. Saying that this rating was VERY DIFFICULT to come up with. The appearance of this location is very easy to accidentally drive right past but I still feel you'd be missing out. The inside is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and the waitress was such a joy and empathic. Normally I would have EASILY given this place a 4 star but my sons and my burger came VERY late and no fault to the waitress. From what she said for that time they only had one grill going at that time. By the time we got our burgers the other two with us had already eaten and starting to pay for their meals. I watched a mother and daughter at another table who ordered just before us also get their food, eat it, and pay for it before ours was even out to our table.

Saying all this it came down to the meal itself. I ordered the bacon and blue burger which was AMAZING and I highly recommend it. Definitely what I'm getting next time we are in town. But my only complaint I had was the fixings with the burgers. The tomatoes were cut soooo LARGE and THICK on both my sons burger and mine that it made it super difficult to eat. I had to remove them to keep everything from sliding out.

I never saw the conditions of the restrooms but it's a beautiful establishment and with amazing food and it's got that perfect small town coney island feel and had a iconic log cabin feel inside. Don't look at my rating and think this isnt worth the stop because it totally is and I plan to again because I want that burger.... but maybe next time I ask for no tomatoes....

Ps... drinks were kinda expensive, and the Specials Menus on the walls flash so much it's very distracting and cause your eyes to strain and I'm sure could cause issues with individuals who are prone to have seizures

Will not "EVER" eat here again! It was 2 days ago and I'm still blown away about how disgusting the food was! I ordered a Kogel Chili Omelet with hashbrowns that was actually pretty good. My Wife ordered a BLT Wrap that had old dried out bacon, wilted lettuce, and cheap watered down ranch. I also ordered an appetizer of freezer burned sav-a-lot perogis while our daughter had sav-a-lot mac-n-cheese bites that tasted like cardboard. The server couldn't care less about the quality of the food after bringing the issues to her attention and instead rewarded us with a $60.00 bill ! Yeah, I said $60, for an Omelet, a wrap, 2 appetizers and 3 drinks! In addition, the bill she gave us said $53 but charged us more! This place has gone so down hill!! I ate here for decades and it was never like this. I new Joe was no longer associated with this place, because he would have never tolerated that type of food quality but I asked and the server said someone named Carla was the owner but not available. Unless you want to be ripped off by food quality and additional charges you weren't told about I recommend going somewhere else! We will never return!!!

If I could give 10 stars I would! FANTASTIC customer service! I was questioning the Flint style coney because it's what I grew up eating. I didn't order it though because I thought it would be sort of a disappointment. (NO offense to the restaurant)(WAIT FOR THE END before scrolling) I ordered a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, also a side of fries just to be able to taste their fries alone. It was cooked perfectly how I ordered and tasted better than perfect. (If that's a thing). The cherry on top of this whole experience was that they made up a "Flint Style" coney and placed it in my bag for me to try. !!! It made my day! I tried it, ate half and then let my boyfriend taste the other half and it hit so close to home! I will definitely order the Flint style coney in the future and even if it wouldn't have tasted well, the customer service alone would be enough to get me back there and tell all who needs to hear it! This place is THE BEST place to grab dinner for the family. The prices weren't bad either. Definitely affordable. (Don't mind my burger photo, I took a bite before...
