Im not really sure how to put this… but this place is like the most Okayiest place of all time. The highlight of my visit here was my homie brought his Nintendo Switch with him and played the server for his drink and tip in a little game called “Super Smash Bros.Ultimate “ My homie thought he was back in high school because he thought he was playing a server to get “free eats” the server pulled up to the table like Uncle Phil did to a pool table (if you know, you know) I seen my boy get sent to the Shadow realm live in the middle of Denver Beer Co. But if y’all must know I had the Grilled cheese sandwich and the lasting impression it had on me was Humm I could’ve made this at home and it probably would’ve tasted better actually I know it would’ve. How does your grilled cheese have no flavor ? It tastes like it sat in pond water before being thrown on the oven. It was just disrespectful to my taste buds to have eaten that. You might as well have given me tofu and Styrofoam with how plain that was. Like come on, herbs and butter y’all not water and tree leaves. Only reason I’m going 3 starts is because the server was not messing around when it came to playing video games! Big props! I’ll be back once the food gets better! Maybe.

Edit: Returned last weekend with some friends. Normally I try to make my reviews funny and lighthearted even if I don’t have a lot of high remarks to discuss. This place went from being just okay to if someone ever asked me to go again I would just say I’ll pass. The food is not good for the price they charge, the only highlight I can speak of is the server who is an overall nice guy and respectful to his tables. I’d mention his name but I can’t remember it. But I know y’all aren’t hurting for business but my collective said after leaving we won’t put it on our list of places to...

Denver Beer Co is a place I frequent (generally the Platt location). I’ve always had the best experience. Today, my partner and I stopped by the Downing location to pick up ONE crowler of pumpkin beer. To say I’m frustrated and disappointed with the service is an understatement. I waited in line for 15-20 min and upon ordering, was told they were checking if they had more kegs of pumpkin and we could wait a few. I continued to wait, they confirmed there was one more keg and said it will just be a few min while they changed the keg and would then pour my crowler. Minutes later, I was told they weren’t going to do a crowler because they were “hosting a pumpkin event and couldn’t run out of pumpkin beer” but were willing to serve me two pumpkin beers if I was drinking them at the location. They also tried to offer me other beers to go except pumpkin. As far as I know, one crowler is equivalent to two poured glasses…so basically I was just denied service because I couldn’t stay, when from the start, they knew I wanted a crowler and made no mention that it wouldn’t be possible. So, in addition to leaving with no beer, my time was completely wasted for no good reason. Incredibly disappointed in the staffs’ ability to make decisions and provide good customer service. I feel I was treated like a worthless customer simply because I wasn’t sitting at the location to drink the beer. Likely will not be returning to...

DBC is decent. Decent food and decent beer, but for me its always a Larry David moment. One week I have to sit down to order my one and done. The next week nobody comes and another table goes to the bar to order. Cool. The next week when I head to the bar they tell me to sit down and wait for the server. And depending on that and the time of day, I've literally waited 10 minutes at a table before someone actually realizing I haven't been greeted.

All in all the place is good and great at times. Just depends. If you're coming by any time after 4 or the weekend in general, expect to wait. It's good to be busy and I have nothing against parents or kids, but just know during these peak times, it seems the business prioritizes families over anything else. And be expected to WATCH OUT for other people's kids and doggies. Mainly kids running around outside so just be aware and careful. Or don't come lol.

Honestly I live around the neighborhood and was excited to see this pop up years ago but it's so hard to enjoy when you realize it took 15 minutes to get a beer, including the time from being greeted, and you figure it would be more beneficial and quicker to go...

Update 04/09/22: this location seems to be experiencing some scaling issues; kitchen frequently backs up, it gets so busy people end up sitting on the grass or sidewalk, orders forgotten or wrong, broken remote payment systems, etc Beers the same, food is maybe alittle lower quality. But they REALLY need to solve the seating problem when it’s busy. “Seat yourself” is totally fine, but when there aren’t ANY seats left and they won’t serve you from the bar, you easily could go 30 mins without flagging down someone for a table or a beer. Short term solution: just don’t go on the weekends or when the DU kids decide to go drinking. Original review: Excellent. Wide open, beautiful beer garden with good vibes, great people, and of course, Colorado craft beer. The beer selection is similar to the Platte St location, but, there are a few special, Downing St specific brews. The “Rosedale” was particularly floral and delicious. The food was equally superb. The double burger was one of the better flame charred burgers I’ve had in Denver. Overall, highly recommended. Will become one of my favorite local spots.

Very disappointed in our trip to Denver Beer Co South location. Great beer selection (as you would expect from Denver Beer). However, the service absolutely killed our experience. Food is overpriced for what you receive (Chicken tacos consist of 3 of the smallest corn tortillas I've ever seen overlapping about the middle with the taco filling spread across the center. This creates a 'pretty' presentation while effectively finding a way to short change your customer with only giving them one actual taco and two with very little ingredients). If our server wasn't actually generally confused then he did an excellent job making it seem that way. We sat close to the employee only door and the kitchen staff had less than appropriate conversations coming in and out of that doorway, professionalism definitely doesn't exist. Be warned, there is a lot of merchandise available for purchase on the website with this location as a pickup option however they do not have a majority of it in stock.

Update June 2022 - STILL FABULOUS!! You have to try one of everything off their food menu. Delicious! Excellent service. Great beer 🍺 Caitlin (sp) from New York was so awesome! Thank you for a great first experience at Denver Beer! The Raspberry Yum Yum is awesome! You HAVE to order the wings. I am not a huge wings fan, but these are like none I've ever had. The smoke, the seasonings, DELICIOUS! They are frenched, and they are one to two bite wonders. Their ranch dressing is made with fresh dill weed. The Bleu cheese crumbles are very mild and very enjoyable. The green Chile pork smothered fries were wonderful as well. The food is not typical bar food. It's an experience all to itself. Thank you to the chef for coming out to talk to us!
