In Ireland the name Duffey is found in the western province of Connaught where it was introduced by Scottish settlers in the 14th Century. The first reference to the name in the New World is Andrew McDuff who arrived in New York in 1812. Today there are approximately 6,000 bearers of the name Duffey in the United States. And you know what that means? Nothing. Their rolls are amazing though. Buy a dozen. Then slice one in the middle, put in a chunk of fudge or a brownie and then ice cream on top with whip cream. I've never done that, I was just seeing if you were still reading this. Also, most people don't know this, but for every two dozen you purchase, they give you a round trip ticket to Ireland. Been there, done that.
UPDATE- Thank you for your response. I would go with you to Ireland, but the last time I was at the beautiful Emerald Isle, I was looking to buy an emerald ring for my sweetheart. I met an old man who was very sick (with leprosy) at a bar who needed money for medical treatment and he sold me his emerald. When I came back to Denver, I went to a jeweller to get an appraisal, and he said it was fake; a "leper's" con. . . . . a "sham" rock.
Also, I was talking with two lovely woman at a bar in Dublin, and I asked them "Are you two ladies from Ireland?" One of them scoffs and tells me "it's Wales dumbass." So I asked again "are you two whales from Ireland?" And that's about all I...

Read moreUpdate: I was about to walk in to purchase food from them today, but saw a big sign out front that said "Masks optional." That is not what the current health order says. It says masks optional in enclosed spaces for vaccinated people, not optional for everyone. This makes me extremely uncomfortable as I feel this opens me to the risk of eating in an area where sick, unvaccinated people have been allowed to spread their germs. I wonder if this has anything to do with why they have a sign stating they are hiring, because their staff felt unsafe and quit...? I won't be back as encouraging community transmission of COVID does not align with my values.
Tried their veggie roonie sandwich today and it was fantastic! They serve their breakfast sandwiches all day, which is great for me since I love breakfast but don't ever make it out to a restaurant in the morning.
The staff is consistently awesome every time I've been to this place. Friendly, quick, and in the rare case of an order going wrong they do a great job making it right.
Ordering by phone seems to be easier for them than ordering via their website if you intend to pick your order up quickly. Seems their web order ahead is better suited...
