Nozomi – A Refined Sushi Experience with Stellar Food & Inviting Ambiance
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nozomi, and I must say it lived up to its reputation as a top-tier sushi spot. As a dedicated Google reviewer in the top 20% nationwide, I prioritize authenticity, quality, and service in every review. Nozomi impressed me across multiple fronts, making it a strong recommendation for any sushi enthusiast.
⭐ Food: 5/5
The food was exceptional, showcasing fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and meticulous presentation. The Sushi & Sashimi Combo was a standout, delivering an impeccable selection of buttery, high-quality fish that melted in the mouth. Hamachi and Unagi Nigiri were personal favorites, with the unagi’s perfect glaze adding a slight sweetness that balanced well with the rice.
I also highly recommend the Chawanmushi, which was a warm, silky delight, and the Seaweed Salad, which had a crisp texture and the right amount of umami. The Kobe Fried Rice was another surprise—rich, flavorful, and well-executed with tender beef pieces.
For those who appreciate well-executed appetizers, the Miso Soup, Shishito Peppers, and Age Tofu are great starters to ease into the meal.
⭐ Service: 4/5
While the service was generally prompt and professional, there was a slight delay at times, which kept it from being a full 5-star experience. That said, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and accommodating when I asked for recommendations.
⭐ Atmosphere: 5/5
Nozomi provides a relaxing, upscale yet cozy environment that enhances the dining experience. The ambiance is perfect for both intimate dinners and small group outings, with soft lighting and traditional touches that bring an authentic Japanese feel.
💲 Price:
I found the $20-$30 per person range to be reasonable for the quality of food served. It’s worth every penny for the premium ingredients and the elevated sushi experience.
🔹 Additional Notes:
Great for Sushi Lovers – Nozomi is a must-visit spot for sushi purists and enthusiasts.
Vegetarian Options Available – There are solid selections beyond seafood.
Parking – Convenient and accessible.
Kid-Friendly – While it leans more towards an adult dining experience, the atmosphere is welcoming.
Wheelchair Accessibility – Adequate seating and entry options.
Final Verdict: A Must-Try Sushi Destination
Nozomi delivers on quality, authenticity, and atmosphere, making it one of the best sushi spots in the area. If you appreciate expertly crafted sushi, thoughtful appetizers, and a well-curated dining experience, this is the place for you.
Would I return? Absolutely! Nozomi has earned a solid place on my list of go-to sushi restaurants.
📍 Highly Recommended for sushi lovers, foodies, and those seeking a quality Japanese...
Read moreI heard about this place thru Tik Tok of course!! I was looking for a new place to try out for dinner to meet some friends and I am so glad we did! We were going to go to Sushi Den again but I confessed to them how I don’t think it’s that great of a place just pricey and I have been there before (were talking 10 years or so ago) and recently with in the last two years (2023&2024) with them and my BF. So they let me choose and I did! I got all ideas of what to order as well from tik tok and going thru the reviews so, THANK YOU to those who took the time and put in the effort to name the dishes, share your opinion and experience as well as pictures. I ordered a Lychee Martini and a Pineapple Jalapeño margarita. I enjoyed the Lychee cocktail more. For appetizers we ordered the Miso soup, house salad, crispy spicy tuna, Shumai (from the happy hour menu) and pork gyoza. For sushi we ordered the salmon maki (from the happy hour menu), Sake Toro nigiri, Tejon roll, 2 shrimp tempura rolls, and a California roll. I had everything but the last roll I mentioned, the gyoza and house salad. I loved the soup- best one I have had in a while perfect balance in seasonings. The Shumai was fried and I preferred steamed but it was still flavorful with the sauce it’s served with and it comes with 8 pcs! I have never tried the Crispy Spicy tuna anywhere that I can recall and that was my favorite for a min. Then it changed to the Sake Toro Nigiri, I completely adored the size of it, the presentation, the taste and texture. The spicy salmon maki was so simple and so tasty. I think I’m going to have to say the Tejon roll was my favorite. The salmon on top did it for me lol. We never checked if we got charged happy hour prices for the 2 items as we selected them from the paper not ordered them more specifically from the happy hour menu but I don’t mind because I enjoyed everything and eventually (next day) ate all that I ordered. I cannot wait to come back. As far north as I live- I will go down to that...
Read moreI consider myself a sushi snob and I'm willing to pay $$$$ for quality sushi. Denver, unfortunately has a lot of overpriced sushi restaurants that try to charge an absurd amount for barely above average sushi. Nozomi, on the other hand, has amazing quality for some of the lowest prices you can fit in the city. This isn’t a high end sushi restaurant but it’s good or nice enough for a dinner date, celebration, or casual meal! Their quality and fish to rice ratio is not only amazing but they do a great job at dressing their dishes appropriately with balanced sauces and simple garnishes. You can find amazing deals for sushi, kitchen apps, and drink on their happy hour menu which is from 4:30-6:00PM. I dined for the first time in early 2024 when I had visited from out of the state and I was very impressed. At the time, their walls were white. I moved to the city this year and got to dine in recently and the walls are black. The ambience is much nicer. The service was amazing and fast. The restaurant was filling up which was great to see for the restaurant. We asked if they do anything for birthdays and they brought out a matcha icing flavored cake. It was a nice way to end our meal. The temaki hand rolls on happy hour, chilli tofu, sake toro nigiri, hotate jalepeno crudo, and red dragon roll were some of our favorites of our meal. They don't skimp out on the fish portions for the hand rolls. Nozomi is now going to be my go to sushi restaurant in Denver! Seriously come try this place, you won't be...
